I am playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 on DS when I only have a few minutes for video games...  When I have a lot of time, however, I am currently playing through Half-Life 2 again.  Gosh, that game was genius.  I haven't played Episode One or Episode Two yet, but that's my goal after I finish Half-Life 2 again...  It makes me want to be a scientist.  Gordon Freeman is the shit.

How would you rate Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2? Also the two episodes of Half-life 2 are quite interesting after the events of Half-Life 2 while leaving City 17.

I see a Megami Tensei avatar!

Yep I finally decided to use an avatar. So I figured I would go with one of my favorite game series.

The monsters and bosses keep the same stats. I think it just seems easier because you know how to beat them now. Figuring out weaknesses was part of the fun during my first play through, but once you figure them out the game gets much easier.

That is pretty much it since the game hasn't changed all that much. So past strategies for the previous incarnations of the game will work just as well for CTDS.

Persona 4: I have been pretty much playing it off an on since I first got it. The game has been pretty interesting in it's plot and characters. Luckily I have had experience with the Shin Megami Tensei games. So it wasn't that difficult to deal with some of the enemies quirks in battle. It is always amusing to see a high school student summon a persona from mythology to fight some shadows in the TV world.

Fallout 3: I was playing Fallout 3 and ironically enough I haven't touched it since I got Persona 4. Even though this game does portray the Fallout universe quite well it does leave you a little overwhelmed. I played the first two games and it does live up to the previous games to extent. What I really miss was the Black Isle humor they put into the first two. Over all it is quite entertaining but until I finish Persona 4 I probably won't finish it.

Also when I finished the games I am currently playing I will start on Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. Much to my surprised I actually found the game in the mall in excellent condition with everything intact. This has been one of the more elusive games I have been trying to get for some time.

That seems to be the case since I remember I got most of my mirrors from them.

I still have mine in it's original sealed state, so I'm not going to risk opening it. It shall remain that way, since all I needed was the two songs and I have those on my computer.

They don't speak... That sounds like they are some shadow like things...

That is implied since all of their names has Shade in it. They are called Crimson Shade, Steel Shade, and Alabaster Shade.

39
They don't speak at all, so the only dialogue you can have when you encounter them is from your party.

What's an AOE?

It stands for area of effect, which is a common term in many mmorpgs.

I hope you can get it for a decent price Void. Thankfully I was lucky enough to get it when I picked up my copy of the game. The pre-ordering helped me in that regard.

Chrono Trigger DS Analysis / Re: Is Guile an amnesiac post-CTDS Magus?
« on: December 09, 2008, 12:28:04 am »
If Eclipse Magus is Magil, then why would he be sent back to the CT->CC timeline? Wouldn't you have two Magus's floating around in one timeline? It wouldn't make any sense. You'll have Magil who presumably might become Guile and you would still have the original CT Magus.

And like others have said, didn't Magil find Schala already so what would he be doing in the Eclipse anyway? Eclipse Magus being a post Trigger Magus makes sense to me.

Yes that seems quite likely to me as well, but I happen to think he is the Magus from the "Beyond Time" ending. This is always interesting to think about the possibilities of time and dimensions. Well at least concerning the ramifications of it in the world the Chrono games creates.

*comes out of lurking spot*

Sux you have to beat the game to access the DV.

True you do have to beat the game once, but it does not mean you have to do it all over again to reach the DV.

Has anyone gotten the Angel's Tiara? Whenever I head to the Antiquity Vortex, I simply bypass the area entirely and instead go straight to the Nameless Cave... Anyone else have this problem? It really sucks, since the Tiara is one of the best equips in the game. :(

Edit: Never mind, got it. It appears that it's completely random whether you go to that screen or not... The Vortices are weird. o.O

If you want more of them you can get them randomly from tier 6 in the monster arena.

Thanks for pointing that out Nexus. Is it possible the Lost Sanctum is a peak at the Reptite timeline?

Probably not since the Reptites in the Lost Sanctum haven't seemed to have changed at all. It could be before they started developing their type of close to nature civilization. They seem to be at a more tribal stage in the Lost Sanctum.

Also I noticed the Reptites in the Lost Sanctum seem to have never encountered humans. So it could be dimension where the humans either never developed enough to gain intelligence or were defeated and forgotten. Also there is a possibility that this group of Reptites just never met the humans in their dimension. Such as one developing on one continent and the other on another.

This may have been a precursor to the development of the Reptite timeline.
