I don't understand why SE had to do this. I don't know if this is a good idea, but instead of companies like Square Enix bordering on hostility towards game hacks or game projects based on their original idea by issuing C&D letters, why don't they instead reach out to these hack developers? I mean, the creators of these hacks or fan games can seek a partnership with SE by selling their ideas to them, have SE approve them, and both SE and the fan developers can profit from Crimson Echoes or any fan game or hack of the like (say $5-$10 per game), so they can BOTH benefit from that. Any Chrono Trigger hack can easily be ported onto the WiiWare games part of the Virtual Console for instance. Both the company and the fan base would win this way, instead of one winning over the other with C&D letters.

Great episode as always.  :) However, I was disappointed when it didn't end in the first appearance of 2300 A.D.  :(  I remember reading a while ago that this episode would feature 2300 A.D. Now we have to wait longer?!? Geez how long does this last?

Forgive me for asking this, but what the heck is Chrono Trigger Rebirth? What type of hack is it? What are its features?

So, I've beaten the game now, the only thing I didn't do was the sun stone, because for some reason I couldn't...  I beat the black omen, no issues there as far as I saw, and Lavos has been struck down. (By the way, I like what you changed there, pretty cool.)

All in all, aside from what has already been posted, I have found no bugs, so hopefully this means 1.1 should be out by Feb..  But don't take my word for it.


I thought you said it was coming out this week?

I just came back to this site and I'm excited to hear that version 1.1 of CT+ is on the way very shortly!

Just one question... What new features will this version have that the other version didn't have? And will there be new techniques?

Zakyrus, have you thought of implementing a cutscene when you meet up with Magus at 12000 BC after going through with Blackbird, where it shows all those scenes with Janus at 600 A.D., how he evolved to become Magus? Or is the simple story of him telling the party about it enough?

Also, I couldn't get to the Death Peak in the current version because I didn't get the Crono clone at the Fair before Crono died. And trying to get Silver Points to do that is really buggy and I don't know if you knew it before I told you. Thanks.

Nice! I'm really excited about the progress of this next release 1.1 and can't wait until it comes out. So the release date is not far off I hear. Are we looking at a... say, a late-October release?

You know what else should be included in the next or so version of CT+? There should be an additional cut-scene of Marle being transported to 600 AD. You get to control Marle for a while, going to townhouses and restaurants, and I guess one of the people would "recognize" Marle, in other words, mistake her for the kidnapped Queen Leene, report the news that the "Queen" has returned. The cut-scene should be placed either immediately after Marle accidentally gets transported, or when Crono first finds Marle in the castle in Leene's room, or when Crono and Lucca find her back in the room after the death of Yakra. She would then tell her story to Crono and Lucca, and then would come the cut-scene. Anyway, thanks for considering this.

Hey Guys,

I decided to look into the problem for you guys and it looks like Map C1 (Hall to throne room) has been corrupted in that patch...It was like....literally gone?

So it's definitely not an emulator problem   I went ahead and I imported the original map and it fixed it however I've never seen a map totally blank out like that I'm worried that something new in CT+ has written over the data and thus my import overwrote whatever overwrote map C1 haha.

That being said I tested out that one particular location and it is working now, all the code was fine it was just the map that was gone.

I attached a patch that you have to apply to a fresh nonheadered CT Rom (it's  not just a patch to fix that one map it has to be applied to a fresh rom)

Damn it! I tried the patch you just gave us, patched it with a fresh ROM, continued where I left off (before I enter the Zeal Palace) and I STILL get a black screen when I either go to where Schala goes or towards the room with the Mammoth Machine! What's going on!?

Just so you know, my intellectual pride lies battered on the floor as I type this. 

I just patched a clean rom and started a new game, I'm already noticing some differences, namely that Crono started with equipment, unlike the other rom.  I must have patched my original rom with another hack and forgot about it, then patched the beta on top of it.  I haven't made it to zeal yet, but that was probably the issue. 

I disagree. I have patched a clean, unhacked version of Chrono Trigger with the beta of CT+ and I'm getting the exact same problem. I walk to the door that leads to the corridor that Schala walks in and I get nothing but the black screen of death.

Hey, what happened to the enhanced dialogue between the two little Imps (or whatever they're called) before you come out of their closet for the first time? I want it back.  :)

This ROM is pretty kickass so far... Except that the dialogue in Magus's castle is very much the same as the original. What's up with that? Also, if you have Frog not speak his Shakespearean version of English in CT+, notice that after the flashback with him and Cyrus, he still says "Awaketh, Crono!". Just something you should correct.

I think you should double check all the dialogue because there still seems to be some dialogue from the NA version that's not supposed to be there. For example, when Taban presents Marle as the next test subject in the Telepod, Marle still says "Don't go away, I'll be right back" and when Ayla strikes Kino for taking Crono's stuff, both Marle and Lucca (but not Robo) say their accompanying NA version dialogue "Ayla! Mellow out!" and "Wow! Talk about strict!", respectively, and not the retranslated ones. Just something you should revise. Thanks!
