I'm referring to his dialogue, method of speaking, and the like. Sure, he went insane from being experimented on, but in the original Japanese version he acted one-dimensional and otherwise quite boring. Ted Woolsey gave him the flair that we know Kefka for. Without Woolsey Kefka would not be considered the good character that he is.

That goes for many, many more characters as well though. Most characters, when translated, lose their personality and have to be re-scripted. Besides, do we really care about the original Japanese when we can have English Kefka? <3

"Cefca" doesn't even sound good.

So, what are you basing your conclusion that Japanese Kefka was one-dimensional on?

...as I said, his method of speaking in the original Japanese script. He acted--and I quote, though I'll be damned if I remember where from--like "ExDeath Mark II." I think it might be the transcript of the Ted Woolsey interview...though I'm not sure about that.

But unless you can read Japanese, you are not referring to the manner of speech, but the speech itself. Meanings may translate over the language barrier, but some things do not.

Meh, Kefka was more or less the same from what I remember...His lines just weren't as 'funny'. I think that was mostly due to culture class and language barriers though...Besides, can we ever forgive Ted for what he did to Relm??? She was actually kinda cool in the original.

Anyways, I'd rather have the Real Deal Holyfield over a Fabrication Interpretation any day. Call me a stickler for artists original ideas if you must...

If you determine a villain by accomplishments, Kefka wins. If you do it by his adversaries, Kefka still wins. If you do it by personality, Woosley'd or not, Kefka isn't as big a putz as Ol' Sephy Head. But mainly, I think Kefka wins because of the loftiness (and insanity) of his goals. He was even original about it...The destruction of Hope itself? Of course it'd take a madman like Kefka to think of something like that...What was Seph's deal? The destruction of the world? Get a clue, numbnuts, every other FF/RPG/James Bond villain already tried that.

Anyone else realize that Sin was inda just doing what Kefka was doing?

Not to be a nerd, but he was aiming to become a god.

But Kefka beat him to it anyways.

Yep. No delusion; all personal and practical will.

He came back for 7 minutes. That does not mean he lives. Also, he's just a wannabe Lavos in AC anyway.

no, he died, was born through a clone of him, and was killed again.

He failed TWICE OVER.

He failed TWICE OVER.

That's an absolutely poor, shallow and ridiculously foolish conclusion.

Sephiroth isn't flesh. Sephiroth is will.
