I personally WORSHIP the SNES controller. The gamecube controller's padding on the analog stick comes off after heavy use and fucking murders your thumb, but I like it. PS2 is okay as well.

Radical_Dreamer beat me to it. I always use a Classic  Controller on the menu and whatever games support it.

And oh, the Atari 2600 had an add on wireless. A lot older than 16 bit.
