Yeah, I've done a lot of searching, and I haven't heard about any additions besides the new character portraits and that Mitsuda did a (singular) new song for it. Everything else is up scaling/remastering etc.

I'm just excited they're acknowledging the series again, though I did wish they'd add some new content, or maybe clear up some of the stuff we've all debated for decades. (Who is Zoah's true identify, etc).

I just googled "Chrono Cross script" on a whim after I saw the video and I clicked on the first hit. Looks like that was the Gamefaqs version of Zeality's script. Maybe that's an older/incomplete version?

Can't be, since that's the one I was referring to. The line is in there.

Huh. I must have done the search before the page was done loading or something.

Harle: "Every problem haz a solution...I hope..."

Was this scene in the original Chrono Cross? Like I recall the scenes between Harle and Starky? But not this particular line. I did a search through the Chrono Cross script and didn't see any hits fit the use of "Haz" ever either...

It seems so bizarre to be PS5 only. CC may be my favorite JRPG of all time...but it hardly seems like the type of game that would get money-hatted by Sony or be such a massive remake that it could only run on the PS5...

Sooooo as far as I've been able to tell, it seems like the rumor mill has kinda dried up ever since December, right? I haven't heard anything in a bit. I still think it's a thing. A lot if the leaks mentioned December, but COVID has delayed virtually every thing in the industry, so I still think it's coming...

Chrono News / Re: Another Eden x Chrono Cross Collaboration
« on: January 11, 2022, 05:32:39 pm »
So in the end, did the collaboration add anything to the plot or world building of Chrono Cross? Or is it simply a bunch of "What if Kid interacted with Another Eden characters?" type of stuff?

It's hard to say. It mostly worked like previous collaborations in that it's basically "Characters from Collab end up in the Another Eden world, get involved in an adventure similar to their series of origin, then leave."

Complex Dreams, however, does make what could be considered a big change: Harle comes to accept she doesn't have to rejoin the Dragon God. That could have repercussions if she were to return to her world. Considering that the Cross characters have yet to return home, unlike the other collab characters, and that Complex Dreams ends with possible plot hooks, it's very likely this isn't over.

That said, even with Harle having made such a decision, we can't be sure it will stick, since so far previous collaborations also had their characters mostly forget what happened during their stay in Another Eden, so only time will tell if the Cross characters will have the same happen to them or not.

That's interesting, that bit about Harley. At least it's something. So many of the mobile spin-off type crossovers are just totally inconsequential to their main games. (Fire Emblem Heroes, every "Tales of" spin-off, etc)

As I pointed out in the other thread, the Another Eden collaboration is set to come out on the same day as the Chrono Cross Remastered is rumored to be announced, at the VGAs.

So wild to see new Chrono Cross content in like...ever!

I also noticed that it releases December 9th, which is the same day that the Video Game Awards (VGA) air - that's where/when the Chrono Cross Remastered is rumored to be announced...

Question for those of you who knows how the game works: I've been holding off on Another Eden until I can play it on Switch or Steam Deck (no computer and gate playing games on my phone.)

Let's say this all happens. Are they time-sensitive things that expire? Or can you do them forever?

I could never forgive myself if I waited to play it in 2022/23 but lost out on the opportunity to play a Chrono Cross crosssover event. Or missed out on the chance to recruit Serge/Kid etc.

Once they release, they're available forever. That's the neat thing about Another Eden. It works more like a single-player RPG with Gacha elements rather than a Gacha game, if the distinction is understood.

Thank you. I thought I had heard that before and that's why I decided it was worth waiting until it was on different platforms - but thanks for confirming.

As you and Zeality pointed out, the website is really giving off Chrono vibes, so it really feels like this was happening in some capacity. So I wanted to confirm my options.

For what it's worth, a bunch of major video games websites are reporting now. (Though they're all citing the same source.) Still, makes me happy to see Cross making headlines in 2021.

I'm trying to keep expectations tempered too, but I always wondered/hoped  they'd start going down this route once they ran out of PS1/PS2 Final Fantasy RPGs to remaster....

More rumors. I think that guy has a mixed track record in the world of video game rumors and leaks though. I believe he claimed Persona 5 was coming to Xbox, which so far has not come true.

I'll admit, I don't preclude the Chrono Cross release on December as per the list. Just that it may be separate from this bit regarding AVA. After all, even if the list is right, it doesn't mean it was a full list, no?

But well, at least we will find out soon.

I see what you mean. And thanks for that Gematsu/AVA link. That sounds really intriguing whether it's Chrono related or not.
