Not news worthy yet, but could be if it turns out to be true. A leaker states that a Chrono Trigger remake in the HD-2D art style is in the works. They've been right about things in the past, but wrong about other things too. Something to keep an eye out for.

So, Chrono Cross Remastered isn't quite a full re-translation, but there are a lot of tweaks and wording changes.

Are we tracking/documenting changes anywhere? If so, I'd appreciate it someone would point me in that direction. If not, then I was thinking of starting to document it in this thread. (I'm contemplating doing a replay of Remastered at some point here sooner or later.)

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Chrono games connection/similarities with Xenogears

Sorry if this has been discussed to death before, but I was replaying Xenogears last night and noticed some similarities to the Chrono games, and had some questions for fans of both.

1.  I was wondering if, either already written elsewhere, or if you guys would help me off the tops of your heads-- how many connections/similarities are there known between the two?

For instance, Lucca is in Lahan village at the very beginning. 
Secondly, Balthasar is an old wise sage in the game, and Melchior and Gaspar are mentioned as well.

2.  Secondly, I remember reading a long time ago that at the very earliest stages of xenogears, it was meant to be a Chrono sequel, but the story and concepts turned into something different, so they decided to make it it's own thing.  I was just wondering if this was something confirmed, or if it was just a rumor/speculation.  It was so long ago I don't remember the source.

Chrono Compendium Discussion / Are all of the topics here?

Were some of the topics in the different forums lost after the recent server troubles. It seems like some of the threads i was reading and checking on are now gone... (strangely enough, several i was writing in)

Also, Ramsus, do you think that you should make the note about the forums being up a little bigger or more noticable?  I don't mean to complain, it's just that me personnally over looked the fact that the forums were back because I kept checking the site, and kept seeing that pic of a girl you drew, and figured the site was still down.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Interpretation for Chrono Cross's ending

I just beat Chrono Cross for the 5th time, and i'm still working on just how I want to interpret the ending.  I'd just like anyone who has beat CC and gotten the good ending to say how they interpreted the ending.  Yes, I realize that there are probably many other topics like this already made and discussed, maybe even ones started by me, but it seems like there are some new people here since all that server stuff was fixed, so i'd like to hear their opinions too.

So how did everyone understand the ending?  One thing i've particularly been thinking about is in the ending, there are images of a girl in the city who resembles kid, FMV of kid sailing in the sailboat, and kid in a pink, girly get-up.  There are soooo many ways to interpret this and the rest of the ending, I just wanna see what everyone else is thinking.

Characters, Plot, and Themes / how do people feel about the chrono cross summary by Zeality

I personally thought it was a very good summary of the game. It helped me understand some topics that i've had some troubles with.  It brought things together for me, so thank you Zeality.  Two thoughts did come across my mind though as i read this, one thing Zeality said, and one thing about the plot.

1. At the end, you mention the possibility of serge and kid getting married, and i didn't recall seeing any references to that in the game, or even that many thoughts of that in the message boards. I mean, I always thought that she was going to try to find serge again, but i didn't of any proof of taking it as far as marriage. Sorry, i dont mean to criticize, it's just a thought i had.

2. It seemed to me that Kid never really understood who she was through out the game, she didn't understand that she's Schala's clone. So if she thinks she is a normal person, what the heck is going through her mind when she goes back in time to save serge from drowning, or takes him into Another world at the beginnning of the game?  I mean, does she have any idea what she is doing, or is it like how her pendant saves her from trouble, and she doesn't remember what happens?

Anybody else have any thoughts on the summary or my questions?

Other Topics and the Prerelease / kid's face

ok, looking at the screenshots of chrono cross at rpg fan, under "exclusive screens" there is this pic of kid, and next to her speech there is a picture of her face that is different than i have ever seen in the game.  her face is tilted to the left, and she looks a little more serious.  I was just curious as to why her speech face was different... is it because this is an old screen shot of a beta? or the japanese version? or something i haven't come across yet in the NA version of the game. just curious, since i noticed the difference because i never thought that her normal speech face fit the in game model or the fmv model very well...
anyone know the answer?

Time, Space, and Dimensions / the ideal timeline

I was just curious as to what the ideal, "merged" timeline was like which takes place after beating chrono cross.  Is it believed to be something that we cannot make much of a judgement on because the game ends there, or is it thought of being more like the another world's timeline (minus serge's adventuring, which would no longer serve a purpose), since another world's is said to be the true timeline. (since serge died in that one... the game refers to it as the correct timeline) if so, does this mean that all of the acacia dragoons and people related to it would be alive except dario, leading to the fact that all the time spent bringing together the two worlds of Riddel and Dario in the masamune subquest in the end did not really matter?  I mean, the sword was important, but Dario would still be missing out of Riddels and everyone's lives after their reunion with him.

Anyways, those were just some thoughts of mine, sorry if i didn't make them clear enough, as i have been reading everyone's theories for sometime now, but this is the first real time i have ever tried to contribute something.

General Discussion / back of chrono cross's box...

hey, i feel pretty dumb having to ask this since i have played through chrono cross many times and i understand most of the complex ideas presented here at this site, but on the back of the U.S. chrono cross box, there is one big picture (kid and serge in a boat in front of terra tower) along with 4 smaller pictures on the right side. My question is, there is one picture with serge, kid, and pip all standing together, but i cannot figure out where this picture takes place in the game. I think if someone could tell me it, i could recognize it, but right now, i must be looking at it from the wrong perspective because I cant' figure out where they are. just curious, since its frustrating since i've played the game so many times. thanx.

hello, I"m new to the board, but i have played both CC and CT many times (and radical dreamers once) anyways, sorry if this has already been asked, but at gamefaqs.com, there is this long guide that tells all about the programmers ending. I have gotten it before, but this guide tells of all these intricacies about it (that I missed), concerning how it's different depending on how you played the game last, and how you can find kid in there and find out stuff about her emotions and such.  I was just wondering about the credibility of all of this, and if all the stuff he writes about kid agrees with all of your theories.
