The end of Time
« on: May 19, 2010, 09:29:03 pm »
Hi guys, well i'm really fan of Chrono trigger and Chrono Cross and all the Chrono's franchise.

I also got a question, when you played Chrono Trigger when you are at "the end of time" you rescue Crono from death with his twin doll and you do all the task left in every different time such as: kill the desert monsters or kill Ozzie and his minions, or save and give back honor to Cyrus stuff like that, i always miss one i cannot solve, Belthasar always says the same thing but i cannot find it he says:

"One of you is close to someone who needs help...Find this person...fast."

Who is this person? i already saved Lucca's mom and restored the desert for Fiona, and prooved the king's innocense, i found the rainbow shell, and met Toma at his grave. What else can i do?

He's Gaspar, not Belthasar. XD

And you can find the retranslation script here: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Scripts.html
It seems that line was completely different.

Well, just copy and find that line in the CT retranslation script.

Quote
OLD MAN: One of you is close to
   someone who needs help...
   Find this person...fast.

Just as you touch the lives of every
life form you meet, so, too, will their
   energy strengthen you.

Fail to live up to your potential, and
   you will never win...

I am sorry that I must simply
   witness the coming spectacle from
   my vantage point here...

Old Man: I expect that there are those among
you, as well, who know about things where
   their own eras are concerned.
   You should try asking......

Battle with the aid of of the people, no, of all
life from every era of this planet......!

If you do not, you cannot beat IT.
In order to change the future, you need that
   great of an energy......

The future to which this planet shall go......
I shall have you allow me to observe at leisure
   from here......

Sorry i'm still lost, this means there's nothing else to save in the game. Right? cause you keep reply me in riddles. I understand this transcriptions, what i'm asking is i'm missing someone to save before attacking Lavos?

I don't remember exactly if there are any more side quests to complete before you fight Lavos (I'd take a peek at an online guide for that), but I think what utunnels is saying is that line, about "finding that person... fast" is a mistranslation.  It sounds really cryptic in the US version, but what Gaspar means is you should talk to your teammates and thus gets clues about their respective side quests.  If you talk to all your teammates at the End of Time and don't cut to some mysterious location on the overworld map, you're probably done with side quests.

Exactly: there is no additional sidequest, only a translation error giving the illusion of one. Just go have fun beating up Lavos. ;)

It basically is him telling you, if you ask your friends to join your party in the End of Time before you do their side quest they'll tell you about it and even show you where it is.

He says something more definitively "ending" once you've done all that junk and taken out Zeal though (which is why I always interpreted Woosley's line to mean her)...
