Metalocalypse Fan Thread
« on: January 21, 2009, 06:12:23 am »
I've been a long time fan of the show(which is on season 3 now), and I wanted to hear the opinions of others on the show. Discuss.

I only saw it in passing...Didn't really get it and/or think it was very...funny? Was it trying to be funny? I'm pretty sure I switched it pretty quickly regardless. *shrugs*

I've seen it a few times.  The only two I remember offhand were one where something along the lines of a religious revival and they keep changing churches....maybe?  I thought it was ok, but I also saw the first episode when they were in the supermarket.  Now, THAT shit had me laughing!

The show's actually kinda funny. As with any show, you'll have to watch more than one episode, though.

Ha! I like that one. Found a link: http://s242.photobucket.com/albums/ff1/anarchic_satanist/?action=view&current=9a32a5f2.flv (if you want to see it again, it is at 2:14)

Never found most of the shows on Adult Swim that funny...I liked Robot Chicken though

I remember watching Cartoon Planet with Space Ghost Brak and Zorak when I was a young'un.  It STILL makes me laugh.  I'll agree that I didn't enjoy most of Adult Swim's original stuff...but I still love Cartoon planet and The Brak Show.  I basically love Brak.  I didn't get into ATHF at ALL except for Carl the neighbor.  That dude was hilarious.  Robot Chicken was really funny, too.  I think I also appreciated more when I saw some of the voices.  Ryan Seacrest was there doggin' himself, as well as a few others.

"Yup."

"....That is the most metal thing ever!  High five."

I watched some of the anime on Adult Swim, and the Space Ghost Coast to Coast bits, but as new programming came in I found it less and less funny or interesting.

I miss old Cartoon Network.

I loved Space Ghost Coast to Coast. I also have to give credit to Toonami for introducing me to anime, that and my father finding the whole original Guyver series in a bargain-bin one day.

Sealab 2021...I just got the first season for Christmas! It's great. I wasn't sure if I'd like it at first but it's pretty great.

Oh, really? I thought it was just the name of the pitch (/pilot?) they gave to CN. I don't really know a lot about it.

I'm a very casual viewer of Metalocalypse, but every episode I see I enjoy. I was a big fan of Brendon Small's other show, Home Movies. That was one of my favorite cartoons of all time. Both feature Small's own music.

Oh wow, he did this? Maybe I should give it another chance then. Home Movies was epic.
