Robo/R66-Y CG Cinematic
« on: December 01, 2008, 12:49:46 am »
Hey all, just wanted to share my latest CT-related project - A full on CG cinematic using the robo model and scene (although slightly updated) from my previous robo still piece. I have been focusing a lot of time lately on learning animation so I wanted to do something that would allow me to practice that as well, and as usual along the process of this project I learned a ton. Where it fits in to the story (if at all) is for you to decide :P. Hope you like it, I had a lot of fun doing it.

Oh yea, I made two versions, one being just the animation, and another (the better one, if you only view one, view this one) being a "OMG LEAKED NEW CT GAME TRAILER" version, or could it actually be a leaked trailer? :O

Good work!
Was that poster on your trailer actually fooled?

YES! It's a new Chrono game on PS3. I knew it! I knew it had to happen!

...oh, it's just straafe's awesome modeling abilities. That was pure awesomeness, glad to see you're still bringing Chrono to the world of 3D.

Anyhow, your work was fucking phenomenal dude; you're seriously talented. How long did it take you to make that video though? The quality was great.

thanks for all the comments guys.

it took less then a week start to finish, but keep in mind I had most of the environment and robot already made from the still-image robo project i did about a year ago.

Yet again I'm amazed at your work.  You definitely got a bright future ahead of you if you keep that up.

Haha, awesome work!

Maintain that optimism. You definitely have some talent.  Not just for the software but an ability to visualize that
not many student/beginner level 3-d animators have.  Most see just shapes and numbers while they work.
You can tell that in your case there was a lot of affection for the project.
Keep that up in the future and there's a good chance the work will be there.

Beautiful animation, glad to see you even got the little red flaps to move too.
Are you using Maya for this, or some different program?

It's a good thing I don't own a PS3, or this would have made me very sad

I used a free program called "Audacity" to help edit the sounds, and I also used Adobe Premiere Pro a bit. Photoshop was used for some texture/picture editing. Mostly Max and AE though.

Wow, it was right above my last post, I feel smart :p .

Another free tool you could try is this one. http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax at least, it was free when I downloaded it, but it went over my head when I tried to use it. All it really needs is an email address and you should be set.

I would love to see some more Chrono trigger related models uploaded to the internet :) .
