Magus' presence and the awesome panoramic view of a moonlit Viper Manor at the very beginning make Radical Dreamers well worth a download. Demiforce painstakingly translated every scenario into English, so you might just gain some insight into certain aspects of Chrono Cross by giving it a whirl. I think most versions already have the Demiforce patch applied, but make sure you're getting the translated version.

I'm playing the ROM right now, and the opening screen where it asks you the text speed was in French, but everything else so far has been in english.

Does it have any blatant references to Trigger at all? The only one I've seen is when the Old Lady in the storage room references Kid's Caretaker (or Lucca).

This cavern sprawls out to great lengths before our eyes. A forgotten world,
hidden deep below ground...
And, with a scarlet radiance, a single small gem shimmers in the darkness.
The Frozen Flame!

The jewel shimmers warmly, almost as if it's responding to Kid's voice...
Taking a few steps into the moist cavern, Magil whispers, "Remarkable... intact
ruins of the lost Magical Kingdom."

There are many many many references to Trigger in the game, a lot are pretty subtle though.

I would recommend playing at least once. 

It's not a horribly long game (you could easily finish it in one sitting).  After playing it, you'll have a better understand of Radical Dreamers itself; also a better understanding of the precursor that led to the creation of Chrono Cross.

Yeah, I just finished it. I have to say it was worth the download, but it wasn't like, mind changing as i've heard it been called before.

It was fun, but I've played better. it get's a bit confusing at times but it's worth it.

Holy crap! A Serge with a personality?!? Yeah...and the alternate scenario's are some of the best in the series. SuperXtreme Alphacosmos Police Case EX Ultra & The Enigmatic Gigaweapon: Paradise X were great and Kid and the Sunflower was touching...Cool characters, nice storyline...what more could you ask for?
