Akward question time!: What song would you play at your wedding?
« on: September 12, 2007, 10:07:10 am »
Well? If possible, add a link to the song. Maybe it's on youtube somewhere. Mine one was on it, unexpectedly.

I'd play The Spiritualized's Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, and excellent song on their album of the same name, based off Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel.

EDIT: Don't say "But I will never get married". I probably won't either, but some songs just come off as wedding songs, so list 'em.

After the kiss and the fanfare, and I want to turn around and...

The Superman theme begins playing.

Yeah, I'm not a big Superman fan (and the latest really sucked), but that theme is great.

That would be hilarious.

As for me...any "wedding" I have would be a justice of the peace ceremony without any flair, so there wouldn't be any songs, or dancing, or what have you...just a boring ceremony...like everything else about me...

Yeah, I probably wouldn't ever have a wedding at all anyway, so forget I said anything.

If I could fit it in, "Black is the Colour," an old Scotch-Irish folk song. (No one can seem to agree on who sung it first. Typical.)

That's not a bad idea . . . I think for my wedding . . . hmm . . . I think I would play the song Sanctuary by Utadu Hikaru. But maybe the Back to the Future theme too, then I could start singing "You built a time machine out of a car . . ." or something.

It would definetely be AC/DC's Back in Black on the background while leaving the [input ceremony location here] or arriving at the party, anyday.

*disregards first post's EDIT*

But I will never get married!

Anyways...maybe that Billy Idol song, "White Wedding"...though I really only know that chorus part, "It's a nice day for a white wedding/It's a nice day to start AGAIIIIIIIN!"

Maybe Darth Vader's theme for when the bride walks the isle...hahaha!

Or how about the song that's haunted me since middle school? The Andy Griffith theme song? Sure, that'd make me murder everyone.

I don't know about the wedding itself, but the home video montage would be set to this master piece. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-0BLV04vbE

Not sure. Prolly something between "Dies Irae" and "She Works Hard for the Money." The Chocobo theme, maybe.

Hmmm. Wedding song.

I'd have to think about it to give a good answer, but for now I'll go with...

"Kiss from a Rose" by Seal.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V41LYparBmw

I dunno why, but I think wedding/love with that song. Maybe it's just me.
I'll think of something better in the next day or so.

EDIT: Only works for a girl named Sara(h), so doesn't really count.
"Sara Smile" by Hall and Oates. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TA44vQtQ4E8

I like the Boyz II Men version much better though, so I would use that version.

Kiss From a Rose is awesome. The summer of 1995 was like my best ever. I had the ultimate experience a little kid could, and my life revolved around Batman Forever (as bad as a film that sort of turned out to be).

White Wedding is an an awesome song, but cupn00dles hard rock song reminded me that the Stooges' Down on the Street would be totally awesome.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=88Ps9iztCxU (this version sucks compared to the original - he can't even scream!)

I would so play 'One-Winged Angel' at my wedding.  :)  And would probably then stand there and watch as my husband runs away in fear of the psycho-lady he just married.

And yes, I'm serious.

Though if I had to go mainstream, I might play "Hanging by a Moment" by Lifehouse, or "The Cure" by Miro.

Oh, I totally forgot about OWA!

I'd do it in the style of the second limited edition disc's menu screen, so after hearing a split-second of drums, the audience is completely melted by the full strength of NOLI MANERE IN MEMORIA and the explosive guitar and orchestra. Then I'd turn, the pure resolve and profound beauty of Sephiroth in my eyes...
