Harle and Harley
« on: November 26, 2006, 04:24:18 pm »
Did anyone else think Harle looked like Harley from those Batman cartoons?

Here are some pictures of both:

Or were both of them based on harlequinns and its just a coincedence?  I think not...

Yeah the Jester on DMC3 -loosely- resembles them also. Its a way of dressing for Jesters/Harlequinns

Not only that, if you've played one of the scenarios of Radical Dreamers there's another person that seems as if he's a clone of Harle, but the opposite sex. He even talks like her! D=

But yeah, I've been pondering the same thing! xD Harle and Harley?! What gives??

It is not a coincidence, as Harle original name is Tsukuyomi, meaning Moon Goddess, from the japanese folklore. Probably the translators chose Harle to resemble Harley.

Oh, for the love of-

You people have never heard of jesters? What the hell are they teaching in schools these days? It's a costume that has been around for hundreds of years. They didn't steal it from a 90s cartoon.

It's a coincidence based on a stupid pun. Batman's was tolerable because Harley was a great original idea from Bruce Timm (it eventually spilled into the regular comics, even!)...Chrono Cross', I suppose, is tolerable because we don't have a name for that Moon Goddess word or w/e, I guess...

But yeah, they dress like clowns and have names based on the fact that they're dressed like clowns...go figure...
