This is just a suggestion but how about we kick this off in January after the holidays? That is always a good time of year to game it up!

I really admire the fan works and such but I don't have time to participate in that, or the experience. I figured that this would be a cool idea to just jump in and share the Chrono Trigger experience with fellow fans.

Here's an idea, how about we stream this once a week as a social night, if we can get enough people with a common free time? I think chatting would be just fine. I'm thinking something like a half hour or an hour.

We could always do JustinTV with the chat option and also use something like teamspeak or ventrillo if people wish to talk rather than type.
I know there was a "fanfest" in 2010 that broadcast a play through of the game, which was great, but I think something that is a little more interactive, and follows one game rather than changing the games with different players would be really cool.

I think it would be fun to schedule some time to play the game while streaming it live with a group and discussing / reminiscing as well as seeking group input on actions and choices. Perhaps do a chapter per night or something. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Polling / Re: Parking the Epoch

Fallout and Fallout 2... Great games. I still fire up Fallout from time to time. I love creating overly specialized characters to make the game more challenging. Like max intelligence, charisma, perception, luck with minimal strength and endurance. Ever talk the Master into killing himself without firing a shot? A ninja is another favorite. Combat knife and throwing knives.
Anyway, I have always parked off of the grass when able and otherwise just tuck the thing away outside of town. Sometimes I leave it docked at the End of Time and travel through time the old fashioned way, as long as I don't need to go to a remote island. And if I head to the Prehistoric time I take Dactyl even when the Epoch is available. Pre-DS there wasn't much of a need to be there though, except the armor if I remember correctly. It's kinda too bad that the game wasn't expanded there. And to an explorable 1999. Maybe earlier in the game you could arrive there the morning of the Lavos attack and explore future Guardia before the timeline gets smashed to bits. Even just a building would be cool.

This morning while spending about 15 minutes with DS in hand just touring the Chronoverse in the Epoch I thought of this question. Have you noticed how you land the Epoch? Just curious!

Chrono Shift RPGMaker Project / Re: CS Demo Response Thread (WARNING: Spoilers)
« on: September 21, 2011, 08:09:31 pm »You have VERY much to be proud of!I just completed the demo. I like. The concept of an early Zeal Kingdom is intriguing to me. I can't wait to see how the story unfolds in the full game! You are doing it fine, that's entirely my fault for rushing the code for the battles. Technically it should be a game-over but it was not a default setting and on a few battles I missed it. As it turns out, after watching peoples' playing habits who are familiar and not familiar with RPGs, it seems you either never encounter the bug or it happens over and over and over and over (the nature of the loop). I am proud of my team and the demo, but it is not problem-free. I'm very glad you enjoyed it, we have a lot of plans for this story! I can offer strategies to avoid the bug at least, make sure your magic users are "charging" but you only need to select it once, more than once doesn't do any extra charging. Rush is good for physical attacks and there are lots of tabs and secret weapons hidden in there to make it all easier to eventually decimate the enemies. Toward the beginning of the game, if you grind in the Academy forest, be sure to go back in and use the healing square (it's free!).
One of the things that I noticed is when you are defeated by an enemy, the game just takes you back to the beginning of the fight, yet no HP, thus defeat automatically. It creates an endless loop. Maybe I am just not doing something right. I would expect to be left at the title screen or load screen.

That made my day! As soon as I saw the three sprites I got the sense that it was them. If they weren't together I'm not sure I would have made the connection, until I spoke with flea.QuoteThe Ozzie, Slash, and Flea characters jumped right out at me! I enjoyed that.<.<......>.>.....<.<......I don't know what you're talking about! (Actually nobody else has caught that yet)

I am really excited for the full game! I was intrigued at the prequel concept before I played the demo but afterward I am immensely looking forward to the full release!QuoteIs there a way to create a blizzard landscape as in the pre-fall Dark Ages? To me the environment seems to be the tail end of the ice age. Unless Trigger happened to occur in the winter and Shift is in summer? It's not summer necessarily but the game does take place in a more progressive world than what we see in Trigger. The huts are more comfortable, and in greater number. The Enlightened venture off Zeal once in a while. They travel by ferry, because the Sky Bridges haven't been built yet. In the full game you'll witness (among other things) the literal and figurative rise of Zeal and the decline of the rest of the world as a result.
Keep up the good work! You all have great talent!
The first time I played I told the woman in Algetty to talk to her husband again. Then I got to thinking that maybe it had some sort of repercussion for later in the game (like the woman with the plant in Zeal that becomes Fiona in spirit) Then I played again and told her to hit him and I THINK that causes him to sell weapons.
Anyway, good job again!

Polling / Re: Which version should someone who has never played CT play first?
« on: August 25, 2011, 09:27:07 pm »
I remember the first time I played the DS game on the release date. My reaction was "The Mystics aren't Mystics" and "Frog doesn't talk like Frog." Of course this was before I knew of the literal translation and the fact that the "original" was not the original.
The Mystics will always be Mystics in my mind.
