This may be a "like" more than a "love," but since we don't have a Like thread I'm putting it in here: For dinner tonight, I stopped by the store to pick up a loaf of fresh bread from the deli. I sawed off a few slices, laid a slice of turkey breast on top of them, poured my homemade turkey gravy on top, heated it up in El Micronuko, and sat myself down with a glass of Spanish cream sherry. Damn! Very good dinner.
Yesterday was my first time roasting a whole turkey. The turkey came out almost perfect, but the aftermath took me about three hours last night. I packed the turkey flesh into bags (almost two gallons of leftovers!), I made turkey gravy (also a first for me), I collected the turkey fat (it'll probably be used with potatoes), and I made turkey stock (still gotta freeze it). Doing so much work after Thanksgiving dinner was a bummer, but tonight's dinner was my first chance to profit from yesterday's toils, and I must say I am pleased.
That sandwich was so good that just writing about it makes me want another one. Tally ho, off I go!
