You're welcome ^^;

Here's my Singing Mtn. Arrangement:

http://chaoslight.digibase.ca/CT%20Hack%20S/TSMAC.spc

I nicknamed it "In Solemn Memory" because, if I ever did a minor hack to CT, this would be the song I would play at either Crono's death or Rebirth. =P

It's not much, but... ^^;

I'm a little confused about the music now...Is there going to be these reinstrumentations along w/Claado Shou's work?

Er... I did a typo on there and listed Trombone as a Percussion. I'll go fix that. Sorry ^^;

Trans, SNES games are only capable of using these instrument formats, kinda like MIDIs.  The only way to get Claado Shou's work in is if we are able to completely crack the music system...which hasn't been done yet.  And even then, Claado's music will sound different in-game because it will be like a MIDI, limited to the game's instruments.

ZeaLitY, I'll post my mix of Marle's theme once we close the forum to the public...  It would make a good song to be used at a certain point in the story though...  So I'll keep my mouth shut, LOL

Got a mix of Chrono Trigger I like...  I'll post it a little later tonight :)

Far as I can tell, Claado's stuff is preparation.  Anticipating that Geiger will soon crack the code. =P  Whether that will happen or not is anybody's guess, but Geiger specializes at doing the impossible, so...

http://www.geocities.com/shinrinwinterhart/1000ad2ndworldmapthemeshalamix.zip

these songs was not made in temperal flux. they was used with the spc utility found on the same site as temperal flux. changes ff3's and CT music only. these songs are a a few months old from me hacking the CT rom.

I heard your plea, Zeality, for instrument names at Gamefaqs and am posting my reply here, too.

There's a problem with having all the instruments play that line, as undoubtedly they were created to sound truer or better playing their specific parts. But this is probably still the best way.

0D sounds like a very tight tabla, but really could anything.

Hmm...0E sounds like a loose but high tabla.

No idea on 0F.

03 does NOT sound like bongos at all to me, 10 does a lot more.

18 sounds very much like a generic bell tone (or piano) with harp echoing.

1C just sounds like a low guitar.

25 is a low snare.

29 is a piano with an chime-like echo that does not sound like a traditional instrument.

2A...is a hand drum. Can't say more than that.

2C is obviously generic strings.

31 sounds like a cross between a shaker and a ratchet.

35 I think there is a name for this, but it sounds like a cross between bells and whistles.

36 ...sigh, so many hand drums. Couldn't tell you. Probably just a different pitch.

38 is a very low flute

3C Uh, definitely not a real instrument. Unless you count rubber ducks as instruments.

3D Just a tweak of the duck.

Now I'll disagree with all your picks!

5 is definitely not a bass drum, and sounds like yet another generic hand drum.

8 Just barely different from 7, and "Loud" isn't really a good separator

1B would be better titled MILLENNIAL fair shout

9 contains no timpani.

12 is definitely not trombone, and probably saxophone.

1F is definitely not castanets...shaker or maracas

22 is definitely not an oboe, and probably a high flute.

27 is a generic suspended or set crash cymbal.

2D is a traditional instrument, but I can't think of the name

37 is definitely not a vibraphone, and sounds like a made-up synth bell sound

You can hopefully trust my judgement, as I'm a percussionist at UW-Madison, but feel free to argue back.

I kind of understand how you can switch the instruments being played, but how can you rearrange the order of the music?

Also, how are the songs in the soundtrack MP3 formatted while in SNES they're midi? I don't notice that much of a difference...

As of yet, you don't.

Umm...  I guess you're asking about if you download the MP3s of the original soundtrack?  Well, it's like they made an MP3 OF the MIDI.  So yeah, it'd sound exactly the same.  And technically, the SNES music is not MIDI, it's just a system that's similar to MIDI...that is, it takes data on the pitch and timing of notes and just picks which instrument to play them with.  Modifying the pitch and timing is where we're having problems.
