i love being alive.
there was this huuuuuge crash and a bunch of dishes fell earlier. apparently the powerplant up in middletown exploded. we live near there. all the news stations are talking about it. its... its amazing to think that we almost moved there.

Holy cow, I just saw that on Yahoo! News. Your area just made international headlines, but not in the way you'd probably hoped; good luck with the broken dishes, let alone explosions. Stay safe up there.

its just really unsettling how close you can come to death, you know? when i was little we lived in massachusetts. my parents were looking at these two houses out here: this nice big house in the middle of nowhere but had room for a growing family or this smaller house in middletown that would house two adults and one kid. if my mom hadnt gotten pregnant before the move, i would probably be dead right now, or at least wed have more than broken dishes at least.
im... not even sure what to say now. i think i need to go make something to clear my head.

Wow, Zombie, that's crazy.  I'm glad your family is safe!

I can definitely relate.  My family was near Mount Pinatubo just three days before it erupted in 1991.  If we had waited to leave the area, we would most certainly be dead.  Scary thought.

It's hard not to feel a jolt of fire when Ayla's theme is playing.

I love how the Central Valley (where I live in CA) is getting nearly a season's worth of rain in just two months.  It just rained another inch today.

Finally, the drought is almost over!!

Um... doesn't the valley get most of its water from snowfall, not rainfall? Or am I thinking of the wrong valley in CA?

As freaky as he looks, it also seems a bit more anatomically accurate. Bendy legs and all. What a mighty Leap Slash he could deliver!

Did someone say "mutated frogs"?!

Don't worry, Sophia The 3rd and I are on it!

Does an eyeless, giant mutant frog count?

Ah, I love Blaster Master. If only it had a password system or something.

*Gasp* Is the last boss in Blaster Master the protagonist's frog? What a sorrowful, but excellent, plot twist!

Nope, the Plutonium Boss is not the Hero's pet frog (Fred), nor is it even a frog... though I think I've only gotten to him once ever, so I could be wrong. It's a long and hard game with no saves and no passwords, thus one really needs to block out an entire day.

Still, there are at least 3 mutant frogs in the game, which surpases CT by maybe two (I'm not sure how to classify the non-Glen frogs in it).

One of my friends is a beautiful author and poet, and she has written a few poems for / about me.  I've been having some not-so-fantastic things happen lately, and she wrote a wonderful poem for me last night.  Her words continue to move me to tears (in a good way).  I have no doubt in my mind that she will one day be a famous writer, and I am privileged to be her friend.  She is a kind and endlessly loving person and her words are like fire.

It is a wonderful feeling--having someone show their love for you by writing you something.
