Remember Blue, the famous British boyband that disbanded seven years ago on Elton John's advice?

They're BACK!

Here's their new song this year!  8)

@Lord J: You're a walking Linguist/Dictionary/Thesaurus! XD You sure you ain't a Tolkein in reincarnated?

@Saj: Nice banner! :D I can't seem to put a finger on Synesthesia, but I mostly see letters and numbers (whatever come in sequences) as huge bendable strips. It's like when you're counting from one to ten then onwards, to reach one-million you might need to get a pair of binoculars, or at worst, get a cab.

@Shee: Don't worry, man, you're more self-aware than any of us here, and funny too! XD Remember, crazy makes the man, so be cool and grasp every opportunity like it's apple-juice. Goodluck! But the link to the show is on you.  :P

@Licawolf: XDDD I ain't gonna say the 'Licawolf's interesting links' comment, because there's bound to be hundreds of them following this post. *clicks*

Fangirls are both cooler and funnier than fanboys. "This new X-Men movie looks gay cuz Xavier and Magneto r in bed together in the trailer for .2 seconds"

vs.

50 days until Deathly Hallows Part 2 comes out!  =D

 :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

For the record I think both of those movies look sweet.

Mr Bekkler, the worst specimen of fangirl would say basically the same thing, but with better grammar. She would then proceed to write epic, pre-emptive Magneto and Xavier porn, trashing all females in the movie in the process.

(I'm just sayin'. They get pretty bad too!)

The problem with fangirls is that I don't know too many fanboys who write awful slashfic loaded with gratuitous fangirly Japanese.  :/  (And the fangirl Japanese shows up EVERYWHERE.  In EVERY fandom.)

Semi-related--someone I know is getting "crucio" tattooed on her wrist this weekend.  Okay, I don't want to be all judgmental about tattoos but crucio?  The torture curse?  As a tattoo?  Wth?

Now on to something thread-related::

You know the moment when you finish a wonderful book after reading it for the first time?  I love that moment.  That is one of my favourite feelings in the world.

It'd be hilarious if it got tattooed and she realized it was spelled wrong.

I love the fortune cookie I just opened.

On my first date with D we went to a Chinese restaurant, so at the end of our meal we got fortune cookies.  Mine read "Stop searching forever.  Happiness is just next to you."

I've kept that fortune in my wallet ever since.  =)

That's pretty sweet. I personally freak out when I open up a fortune cookie and there's no fortune. Like, there's a piece of paper that should read my fortune, but it's blank.

But that's freaky. This is Stuff you LOOOOOVE, not Stuff that Freaks You Out. I love that today and tomorrow are my last official days of class. I go to two classes this morning, then I go to the graduation rehearsal. Next week is awards, rehearsals, yearbooks, BBQs, and dunking the retiring principal. :D

@Saj: Congrats! So... when's the wedding? XD

Hah there ain't no such thing as fortune cookies here at Maharashtra for some reason, but I did have my fortune checked using "Luck cards" (basically, fortune telling index cards) about two years ago. Most of my friends received cool stuff, like:

You're like the Sun, bringing light to everyone around you. Don't blink out, otherwise your world might just begin to collapse.

Take a glance between the pillars. A shadow forgotten still lurks in some corner.

But when it was my turn, I got:

It is time to stop pretending. Get down on it.

It caught me by surprise and I pondered what it really meant for over a week. By the time I realized, I just couldn't help listening to this song.

...and dunking the retiring principal. :D
Look who's a bully now! XD *thumbs up*

P.S.: That blank note... was a message from the Doctor!

The worst of the fanboys just write bad straight porn. Really bad, porn-video-type porn that leaves you feeling slimy after reading it. I'll take the fangirls any day--bad Japanese and gratuitously out-of-character characters can be vaguely amusing if you approach them in the right mood, and you occasionally come across one who's competent enough to be a good read.

Re: Fortune cookies--I am greatly amused by 1. the fact that every single Chinese-restaurant fortune cookie in Canada seems to be made by the same company in southern Ontario, and 2. the fact that their equipment occasionally has minor malfunctions that result in it stuffing a given cookie with multiple copies of the same fortune. "Your fate is mass-produced!"

I hate fortune cookies.  So much I had to develop a bit.  For starters, not fortunes (counting your time is not so important as making your time count - NOT a fortune!!) for me at least.  And who is winning the lotto off of a Duck Chang's fortune cookie slip?

Anyway, just got called back for a spot from last week.  Fuck yea let's crush it, shall we?   :)

WHERE IS THE LOVE????????????????????????

I'm double posting because I got shit to love.

Somewhere in my fifth straight viewing of this it hit me.  Call it passion, call it Springtime Of Youth, call it mastery of something, call it technically unparalleled.  It's fucking beautiful.  One single man on one single instrument.  No way.  No way.

Way.

Not awesome.

Not great.

Not beautiful.

Not amazing.

It's fucking beautiful.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQlyHbu0zz4

I hope it makes you all feel as giddy with joy as it did me.  ONE GUY!?!?!?!  ONE INSTRUMENT!?!?!?!?!?

Tomorrow morning I hear if I booked one of these jobs.  Hells yea.  Let's get some love going here.  We humans are capable of insurmountable bitching at times.  Lavos knows that I'm just as if not more guilty than anyone.  I'm not talking life altering hardships, I'm talking about that trifling bullshit.  The nonsense.  The drama.  Let's let it all go, and let's do it together, shall we?

Crash.  8/7

I'm starting on an 1800-mile (one way!) road trip tomorrow. There will be silliness, craziness, great friends, and much partying along the way.

This is going to be awesome. :)
