Grand Request / Questions Thread

Here's the first request:

My exams are scheduled to this Wednesday (hopefully they won't be rescheduled again, as this is starting to piss me off), after which I'll also be required to complete two of the last projects. On top of that, I'll be joining an Arts college, which is going to take long, and I can't find a better job until I graduate and I'm in some need of cash. Since I can't make money on fanfiction, I've decided to start with a relatively easy and quick, zero-budget series (worth mere 2 minutes long) which will help me earn and make a good demoreel. So here's my request:

1) While I'm gone, Fleabane would require writers and artists in my place. The Benevolence team has donate the project to the Chrono community, and now you folks have full liberty to handle it the way you want. Anyone interested in the full story, PM me. When you're interested, I'll release the source files too.

Psst! Did I mention this project also concludes the Founding of Guardia story, along with Cedric's rule? And the origins of the Mystic Knights? Check it out!

2) Speaking of the relatively simple animation flicks, I'm hoping to secure a Youtube Partners program with it, and thus looking for writers and artists. It's nothing too complicated, but anyone involved in the project will be paid (provided I get Youtube Partners). No commitment necessary; simply hop in and brainstorm ideas, stories, art, etc. for an episode. Every episode can have different writers and story-boarders.

I'm working on a minor Limited Animation Comedy project which might help me earn some money. The project is of Zero Budget currently and is an original IP, but once I earn enough I can focus on Fanart again (which I long to do). I have secured a connection with an excellent writer for the scripts (meeting is currently this Friday), but I still require good artists.

If any artist is interested in collaborating, please PM me or respond to this thread. If I manage to secure a Youtube Partner's deal, every contributor will be paid. The style of art that I'm looking for is something like this.

As you guys know, I'm working on a Mystery/Comedy webseries (an episode a month at most) and we already have a writer and artist on board. Script is complete and art is finished by eighty percent by our beloved artist Licawolf. Storyboard is currently under process.

What we really require currently is voice actors. Let it be known that once selected you will be required to stay for a whole season at least. Anyone interested?

Changed the title of the thread, because I need to ask an important question (career advise):

My uncle called a month ago, saying he'd sponsor my trip to Australia. Firstly, I'm neutral about my uncle and thus I said, "I'll consider it". But I also realize that this is a golden opportunity since I can now relieve my family from harsh burdens, and also free myself from living like a dog. Problem is that with the ever changing world I can't leave my family alone, and I haven't the foggiest about Australia's education system / procedure that can help my career.

Any help / info?

XD I'm not worried about the trip, since I'll be earning a WHOLE LOT there than I can ever here; I'm worried about education procedures, which school and college to apply to, what's the scope of animation and art, whether I can pay for the fees with mere part-time job, or whether I can manage studying, working and rent at the same time, etc.

Oh, and beyond that, I also have to save up enough to regularly send money back home (India) to my family. It's a BIG opportunity and I need to plan carefully.

XD Kinda feels weird I'm the only one requesting in the request thread. Anwhos...

Need help on a new name for our studio. I have a hard time understanding how other people would feel or react about something I say or do, and that seems to include "names". Still, no matter how awesome a name sounds, a studio name must also be memorable and easier to pronounce to market well.

Our earlier name was Benevolence, but because the Wordpress account for the same name was taken, I added "9" after it (Numero-Philosophical reasons, not randomly). Since then, even my team-mates have been having trouble remembering the name, so we thought we'd change it.

I suggested "Bullshit Studios", and my friends laughed thinking I was kidding. I wasn't.

A few tries later we realized we suck at naming, and since this would be an internet+RL community studio, I'd just ask the community. What kinda name do we keep that identify us with who we are?


P.S.: Yes, Polar Detective would be released under that studio.  And even several tutorials for people needing them. We innovate!

Ohohohoh, "Bullshit Studios" would have been bad IMO. Then again, there are popular bands called "Garbage", "Cradle of Filth", and "Puddle of Mud," so what do I know?

"(insert something here) Dreamers" would be interesting. I just worry about Square Enix claiming IP infringement if you used "Radical," which would be the most natural choice.

EDIT: Oooh, we should start a landslide of Compendium members tossing out ridiculous names for you until something hits the mark. This could be fun! I'll start with:

Yeah, that's what we need, actually: something not just as awesome as Radical Dreamers, but also as awesome as Radical Squadron! But of course, we're just a studio, not a military platoon. XD

Anywhos, I came up with some names; since I like the color Teal so much, how about Teal Zeal? Or another level, Zeal Deal? Another stupid one I thought about (while wearing a fake monocle) was Tea-Time Paradox. Or a little traditional fancy, Buddha Says.

Anyway, I actually do have a request, especially for you creative musical types. I have been working on a visual novel project for the Dream Splash that is taking me longer than I thought to write, but I still need music. I'm trying to use original music instead of those from the Chrono soundtracks, so I've spent a lot of time listening at free-use music sites. What I've yet to find, however, is a theme for Porre.

So if anyone knows something that would fit, or if you know of a free-use music site I may have missed, let me know. Or even if you feel like making a song yourself and donating to the project, go ahead and I'll be sure your name gets mentioned.
