So it'll just be a compilation of various fan's sequential fanart...Nevermind, I'll just wait until an actual community project comes along then...
Obviously not! And see? That's the problem! If people don't take things like this seriously no GOOD doujinshi would ever be complete! True, I admire light hearted short doujin pages and all, but still.

Your comment ignores the fact that there a tons of great doujinshi that are short and funny. Also I was thinking if we could come up with a more serious story after a bit of practice.

Frankly something light hearted is what we need right now and I feel you saying that no GOOD doujinshi would ever be complete is kinda well cold and mean spirited. It's like your saying that "the only things that will be taken seriously are dark and cold with a long going story". This ingnores that by making short stories we are
1) More likely to complete them
2) More people will get to share ideas
3) Improve our skills so that maybe we can start working on stories that are more serious.
If we jump into number three rigth off the bat then we have a better chance of screwing up. Besides if people don't take it seriously then they shouldn't join the circle, it's as simple as that. It's their own fault if they say
"Well if it's going to be ligth hearted then I don't want to have anything to do with it"
Then they don't have to. I'll gather people who do want to help. We will do it together. I find it disturbingly cynical that people think it's a bad idea for being lighthearted or that its not going to be a direct sequel.

LISTEN UP PEOPLE!
I want this to be fun, but I want us to take this seriously. If you want to join then keep that in mind. Dōjinshi is hard work, but the end result is well worth it. It doesn't matter what kinds of stories we create as long as we give it our all.

Why thank you, I consider that a compliment!

Anyway we need to find more members. I suppose I will take up the leadership postion since no one else has said anything about it. Ok everyone submit your ideas to me through PM. If you wanna join the Circle PM me.
Um the first 2 pages should contain everything we need. I plan to update the first post soon.
Remember any rejected idea is not personal and does not mean your story was bad, we may get to it at a later date is all....or it did suck, but I certainly wouldn't say that to the person directly.

COME ON EVERYONE LET'S GO! WE NEED TO GET MOTIVATED!! THAT'S ALL THAT'S STANDING IN YOUR WAY! I'M NOT LETTING MY COLD GET ME DOWN! WHAT'S YOUR EXCUSES! I WON'T EXCEPT ANYTHING LESS THEN LYING ON YOUR DEATH BED AND EVEN THAT'S JUST A MILD INCONVENIENCE . WHERE IS YOUR SPIRIT!

So people are supposed to make their fanart and then submit them to you for approval because you feel motivated...? I don't get what makes this different from the submission forums as-is besides the sideline cheerleading going on...which really is what the community is already...As cool as "Chrono Jump!" sounds, we already have one that's all-encompassing called the Chrono Compendium. Without a centralized idea or general storyline for the group to follow, this doesn't seem like a thing.

Not fanart. Dōjinshi. Comics.

And no people can subimit story ideas and we at the Circle will attempt to turn these ideas into Dōjinshi if we can. Where did you get the fan art thing from?

Idea gets subimited->Writer writes story based on idea-> artists work together on making that story into a Dōjinshi -> everyone gets to enjoy stories
Techncally the first step is skipped if the writter comes up with soemthing themselves, but you get the point.

Right now our mission is to cheer everyone up but creating a Dōjinshi full of fun stories. Someday we may expand into larger storylines.
You don't have to be involved V  :D
I do hope we can come up with a good long lasting storyline, but I like feel we are dedicated to turning peoples dreams into a tangible reality.
Your negitivity has no effect on me V ^.^

have you ever heard of an Anthology? Not everything that is witten has to be connected. Sometimes stories are collected and presented without having an overaching theme or purpase other then enjoyment.

I personally want to do this out of love and maybe to tell some fun tales, not to write an epic tale of love and adventure, maybe someday the project will evolve into that, but small steps are those that lead to long journeys. Do you have something agianst a collection of short unrealated stories V? Like I said you don't have to be involved.

doujin is art made by fans, thus doujin=fanart...idc what CTNP calls itself or how it pretties up its name, it's a fanfic...

I'm involved insomuch as I'm a fan and member of the community at large.

I'm not trying to be negative, I'm trying to be realistic.

Stories and art collected into a sort of anthology you say?...sounds like a certain COMPENDIUM I've heard of...

I don't think something with a broader scale would necessarily be 'epic', much less be full of merely 'love and adventure'...It could encompass as much or little as the writer puts into it, but first I think something should be put out there, even if it's a vague idea that anyone could take in almost any direction, so that the 'circle' actually has some direction. Otherwise it's a thread for a forum that already exists, which would probably bring my involvement as a mod into question...

Well, I'd love to join, but I'm going to have a busy summer as it is, with a senior portfolio, a job, trips, a week-long aerospace seminar/camp-type thing, and finishing some other non-Chrono related stuff...

But I might drop a story in here once in a while ;)

Well I guess a doujin is what happens when you combine fanfic with fanart.
I don't see how the Compendium is a doujin though...unless we have very diffrent veiws on a doujin. I'm think more along the lines of a comic/manga. The Compendium is more like a collection of infomation and other awesome and fun stuff.
Really I don't see how  your being realistic. Your telling me that It's like the Compendium, but the Compendium purpase is infomation (with a healthy sprinkle of entertainment) the doujin's purpase is entertanment in comic/manga form. How are those two things alike other then maybe the concept of words?
The epic thing was a joke.
And yes it is a fanfic by all means that is what a doujin is, except with art. Are you trying to say that because you have fanfiction and fanart even if they themselves are not connected making a doujin (where the artwork and story go together) would in someway be redundent.
Somewhere along the way that logic seems alittle screwy to me.

If you need a direction then I will give you ours. It's simple, we are a group of writers and artists that by working togther are going to create a collection of manga/comic short stories (we are accepting of almost any mood for the stories) to celebrate our love for Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. We are open to ideas and suggestion from our fellow fans. Perhaps someday we may seek bigger goals, but for now we only desire to entertain and improve ourselfs. Of course there will also be the satifaction of knowing our group effort has created something. If you can't see that as a direction or a goal then I kinda feel bad for you. I find it unrealistic that you wouldn't see bringing entertainment to our fellow fans, improvement of our own ablities, and satifaction in a job well done goals.

Well, I'd love to join, but I'm going to have a busy summer as it is, with a senior portfolio, a job, trips, a week-long aerospace seminar/camp-type thing, and finishing some other non-Chrono related stuff...

The Compendium is a collection of information AND fan art. In fact, most of the really interesting information IS fan made. Hell, one of the main reasons for the information is for fan works, to help define the canon and allow for concise fan art. The Compendium would already host a doujin regardless (it already does so with fanfics and fanart separately), so just having a Compendium sub-group that does the same doesn't seem necessary. It needs something to actually make it a group project more than, "everybody make stuff", which is what it seems to boil down to. I didn't mean the Compendium was a doujin...V_V
