Oh well. You can't rush this kind of stuff. Once Justin's done with the 7th Letter Patch, he'll resume work on this, I'm sure...

8 letters would be done in 5 seconds when the 7th is working.  The 8th one has enough room to fit, it's just that there's too many bugs right now with 7th.  And yes, I'll work on this soon enough.  I've been really busy this week because of Foreign Language week at school.

And no, this project isn't dead.  For this version, all we have to do is do a Memory Check to see if we can get Schala at the coast (Without side-quest blah blah), get her in party, add some new dialogue everywhere, and fix up the DD's area.  Then it's done, minus the graphics.

Don't worry about it man, I was just wondering about something very insignificant. Like I keep saying, let the priorities come first--I'm prepared to watch as this hack takes its time in construction.

Oh! One thing I can do to pass the time: Schala needs reactions for events that occur everywhere after she's recruited... I mentioned this before. Can someone with the script look through where her reactions would be necessary? The only ones I can remember is right before and after the Omen rises, before and after the Lost Sanctum appears, when the party first arrives in the LS, and on Death Peak when the pendant reacts to the Chrono Trigger.

(Here are her reactions for those parts, by the way)

{8th}: Wait... {delay 02} Something's...? {null}

After the Omen rises:

{8th}: Th, the Ocean Palace?! {null}

*sad sprite*

{8th}: Mother, you're still obsessed with Lavos? {full break}

Right before the LS appears:

{8th}: Wait, something else is happening... {full break}
The Epoch's Time Gyro is picking up a... {delay 01} temporal distortion? {null}

After LS appears:

{8th}: First the Ocean Palace, now this... {null}

*sad sprite*

{8th}: I'm worried... {delay 02} That distortion can't be normal... {full break}
Has Lavos's influence mangled the timestream beyond repair? {null}

Upon arriving at the LS:

{8th}: What is this place...? {full break}
I sense something odd about this place... {delay 02} It feels like we're in another world... {null}

At Death Peak:

{8th}: Wait, {Marle}! The pendant's glowing! {full break}
Is it... {delay 02} reacting to the Chrono Trigger? {null}

I'll hopefully get working on this again this weekend.  For now in the Schala Project once it's released, we'll have new techs, some added dialogue, and new items for her.  That's really about all we can do for now until 8thy is fully done and ultimate edition is done.

Oh, yay!

But, after that, you'll need to cross the broken, destroyed, and burned bridge that is the 8th Character... >_< Oh well. I'm sure you'll be able to do it...eventually... o_O

(Oh, and I said she should be at the Village Commons, not North Cape, by the way. Your choice if that's too difficult though)

But, uh, has anyone combed through to see where her reactions are necessary? I know there are a truckload in the LS alone, plus all the ones from the other sidequests...

Edit: I remember some from the Dimensional Vortices, too.

Right before Crono drags the party to the ghostly Leene Square:

{8th}: What do you mean? Something beckons you? {null}

Right before the Steel Shade fight:

{8th}: What in Zeal's name?! What sorcery is this?! Two {Crono}s?! {null}

(Basically just repeat that line for the other Shade fights, only with "{Lucca}" or "{Marle}" instead of "{Crono}")

Edit 2: I remember another one. Yay for on-and-off memory? o_O

When seeing the monsters on the first visit to the 600 A.D. Lost Sanctum:

{8th}: Oh no! What has happened here? {full break}
There are far too many... {delay 01} We won't be able to make it through. {null}

Not quite. There are still some reactions that must be made, like I said. There are a truckload of them in all the end-game sidequests, not just the LS.

But yeah. It's coming along very well nonetheless.

Well it wasn't just Justin, it was multiple people. (Myself, Vehek, and Mav also helped... A couple other people might've, too) But, uh, you're welcome! I can't wait until this becomes real too.

Oh yeah, Gina has a reaction to each party member, doesn't she...? The only one I've seen is Marle's, though. (I almost never go to Crono's House past the first chapter...)

Um... Hearing other characters' reactions might be helpful here. I'm not sure what to write, since I don't know what the "standard" is...

If I'm not mistaken, your leader has a reaction to finding the Sun Keep...

{8th}: What? This light... {delay 01} The way the cave is made... {full break}
It looks like the sun never sets here. Its light will always come through that hole in the ceiling... {null}

I haven't played CT in a while, though, so I can't rely on my sketchy memory for every one...

Though, if the only DS extra Justin's putting in is the DBT, which I already have her reactions written for, I could probably look at the Retranslation script to find where the sidequests require reactions...

...Wait, actually, I don't think I have all the reactions... I believe there's one upon entering the DBT, as well as a few others...

Oh, wait! I can use YouTube videos of CT DS playthroughs and such for the DS-exclusive reactions. So no one needs to comb through the script. :p I'll get to work on this right away. Expect quite a few edits with Schala's new dialog!

I'm working a bit now on the memory check for when you kill or decide not to kill Magus.  I'm using "7F0055   1   40   Given Marle her pendant / Juror 5 - Guilty" and setting it to 97.  When you hit this area, it's originally 96, and I can't find any changes at all after that so I think it's safe to use...but it might affect the ending?  I'm not sure on that.  For right now, I'm going to have it so when you go to the commons first, Schala's event plays, but if you go to the Epoch first, a random NPC will run up to you and tell you to come to the commons immediately thus also activating the Schala event.

Okay, that sounds fine.

Also, annoyingly, there don't seem to be any playthroughs of the DV and LS on YouTube. -_-

Oh well. We can worry about that later. I'll comb through the script now...

I did find out that she needs one for when Dalton shows up in the DV, though:

{8th}: D-Dalton? How did you end up in a place like this?! {full break}
Did one of your Golem summons backfire? I told you that summoning spells are dangerous- {null}

*Dalton: angry sprite*

Dalton: Sh, shut up, you stuck-up little brat! I executed it perfectly! {null}

{8th}: ...... {null}

*Dalton: normal sprite*

Dalton: But no matter. I'm sure you're all stunned by my brilliant reappearance! {null}

(^That takes place of his normal "It's been quite some time, hasn't it? Did I startle you with my brilliant reappearance?". The cutscene continues normally from there)

She needs one upon first arriving to the DBT, as well:

{8th}: This place... {delay 02} I feel tremendous dark energy here. And something else... {delay 03} Like the fabric of the universe is being torn asunder... {full break}
I don't know if it's safe to continue... {null}

But seriously, script combing time now. o_o I should be back in a little while...

Edit: Oh! If you can't find a fitting theme for the DD battle, I think that The Last Day of the World would work great. It's a very sad, lonely, emotional theme. I think it fits Schala's despair as she is imprisoned atop Lavos very well.

On another note, does anyone know what variable causes the epoch on 12,000 BC to load up 2 separate locations?  I need it to stay in 1 location for this to work, or I can just do a fade screen event real quick on Epoch Flying and have it switch to Epoch Reborn.
