For those who haven't set up a personality profile, you can go here.(requires basic registration─username, password, email... you know the drill.)

For those who have set up a personality profile, feel free to post them here in this topic.

The synopsis page for personalities is here.

For example: I, myself, am naturally an Originator, but since my Extroverted/Introverted and Judging/Perceiving are, for all intents and purposes, 'balanced' I can behave in any Intellectual(NT) style depending on the situation.

I'd rather define myself through my actions and understand myself by reflecting upon actual experiences than by trying to fit myself into someone else's narrowly confined definitions of personality based solely on what is essentially nothing more than what I want to think of myself.

That said, this is like a more boring "which character are you" quiz, and would be somewhat fun if you didn't have to register yet another account somewhere and the test had more complexity and tested things like emotional reactions to various stories and what you would do in various hypothetical situations. Simply asking directly leaves too much room for self-whim and delusion, especially when the responses can actually be "back and forth" or "depends on my mood", or even "both" despite the sometimes arbitrary polarization.

Hell, this makes me want to go and make something better... And mine would include a facebook app and not require any registration, nor would it have ads.

Way to kill the thread, Ramsus...
I'm not confusing cause with effect here; I took the quiz with the same feelings as you and when I was done I was actually surprised how 'well' I had fit into the Intellectual category, specifically: the Originator. And, by the way, for those who don't know, the tests are actually the compilation of Jung's theory of personalities and Myer's and Brigg's theory of multiple intelligences.

At any rate, to call them mere bunk, is to discount long-standing theories of personality and intelligence.

Edit: I think the confusion lies in this statement:
[...] I can behave in any Intellectual(NT) style depending on the situation.
The 'can' bit may set off some sort of 'wild flag'; I meant it in the sense of normality.

At any rate, to suggest that theories of personality and intelligence are valid because they are long-standing is fallacious.

What made you create this thread, I wonder? I'm guessing (even if you don't want to admit it or you don't even realise it) that you want to gain some satisfaction by flaunting your own results and perhaps some smugness by seeing others get 'worse' ones (the Dungeons & Dragons alignment thread comes to mind).

Sorry, but I openly consider many long-standing theories of personality and intelligence to be mostly bunk by self-absorbed, neurotic and stuck-up psychologists, which is why being associated with Myers-Briggs type indicators and Carl Jung type theories don't carry any special "authority" in my book (Don't think I didn't see that on the site and consider it).

Always remember that these were all just people too, and when you read any of their books or ideas, always do so as though you were having a discussion with someone rather than simply taking them for granted as well-established and authoritative (as many of us have a great, unfortunate tendency to do these days). More importantly, do so as directly as possible, as other people's interpretations of other people's interpretations of someone's ideas are often so warped as to be almost useless, especially when the "awe" of the original source has been magnified to the point where simple heuristics and suggestive models become inflexible doctrine and dogma.

Also, it's pretty hard for a personality test that forces you to construct a clear-cut version of your own personality based on some select dichotomies to not match your own idea of yourself. But then whether or not it's accurate depends on how well you understand and know yourself to begin with, and a person who doesn't spend a lot of time deeply reflecting on their own experiences and understanding themselves will simply walk away with nothing more than a reinforced and over-simplified view of who they think they are... possibly to the point where the test results become self-fulfilling and actually influence future behavior to be more rigid and less adaptable.

Meanwhile the person who has daily considered their actions in depth and knows their own weaknesses as well as strengths would likely not need such a test to begin with, as they already possess a deeper understanding of where they stand. Furthermore, such a method of understanding encourages greater growth, as the means with which one can daily diagnose and fix those weaknesses they identify is always within their possession.

Also, within the context of comparing yourself to others, a personality test like this becomes completely compromised by the very intent to share the results instead of simply using them for self-discovery. It adds incentives that will keep you from being completely honest with yourself, thus your thread actually makes the test even less useful for anyone who participates than it might have been otherwise.

Know that I don't base my behavior on theories, but like you, reflection. Math, logic, and the arts are my strengths. Philosophy, history, and composition are weaknesses--all of which I am currently strengthening. I, merely, hate when people 'officially' pose a counter argument with actually having 'earned' the right to do so vis a vis actual studies and evidence.

At any rate, to suggest that theories of personality and intelligence are valid because they are long-standing is fallacious.
No, long-standing, in that, they have stood up to scrutiny over time.

Perhaps, maybe to create a sense a of 'community'... I pose a counter-supposition:  I'm guessing (even if you don't want to admit it or you don't even realize it) that you want to gain some satisfaction by creating so-called conspiracies whenever an opportunity so arises. (California School Thread comes to mind.)

This thread is meant for those who wish to participate; for those who don't or simply wish to do counter-constructive activities--simply don't participate.

And it would have black jack, and hookers! You know what? Forget the personality test.

I got "Advocate, "Visionary". I definietly see what it's saying, but at some times during the quiz I felt as if both of the answerss to a question were right. For example, I enjoy Spending time with people as well as being alone, and at an equal level.

I'm going to have to agree with Ramsus; you shouldn't ask a quiz to tell you how you act, you should learn who you are as a person by reflecting on one's actions and thoughts.

Interesting cop-out there. Why don't you create a thread to compare penis length/vaginal depth while you're at it?

Why are you trying to start conflict? As BROJ said, if you don't like these kinds of things, then simply leave the thread and don't participate. Nothing good comes from hanging around to heckle at it.

Well, I'd never have thought such a thread would get so 'deep'...c'mon, it's just a personality test. I don't think you need to overthink it. It's kind of interesting to see how things turn out, but otherwise, it's not really going to define who you are after taking it or change how you perceive the world...>_>

Well, anyways, here's mine...

Holy cow, I already have an account there...and yet I don't remember ever setting one up. It's like the Twilight Zone, losing all memory of things I'd done years ago. Just like the time a few days ago when I thought I'd found evidence that Schala was supposed to be the last boss of CT originally, then realized I had just changed my ROM five years ago.

Anyway, I am an ENFJ, "The Mentor."

Interesting, I must have done this in Freshman Experience when I first started college. I forgot what I was back then, but I'm almost positive I wasn't an ENFJ. It's interesting to see how one develops over time.

Don't worry, Tact, I don't base my behavior on preset theories, but, like I said before, rather deep reflection; just curious as to what other's got on the personality portion and then MsBlack ahas to come out with ad hominems and conspiracies ablazing. At least I respect Ramsus' opinions as they hold water without a 'hidden' attack.

Anyways, thanks for pulling the thread back on track V, Faustwolf, and Tact.
