This is a crisis.  Crono had a 2207 lead last night, but has lost it with the day vote, and Sonic now leads by 762.  If Crono does not retake the lead tonight, this will be the largest successful comeback in the history of these contests.  Admittedly Crono's prospects are very dim right now, but here are a few hopeful points:

Knuckles' lead on Magus last year peaked at 5:50 Eastern- in 5 minutes.  Vincent Valentine was able to come back some 300 votes in the last 2 hours against Sonic this year despite being down by over 5000.  That means Crono's potential to come back is larger, as he needs less of a percentage swing to swing the same number of votes.  The trends today will probably be between the trends of those matches, as some people have school today (Veterans' Day) but many do not, whereas Vincent/Sonic was on a normal school day and Knux/Magus was in the Summer.

I think 900 or so is the point of no return here.  That's the most I think Crono can come back tonight.  Go Crono!  Rally the hordes!

I've voted. I'd love to see Sonic lose to the spikey red-haired protagonist we all love.

And Crono has just won his first update in 3 and a half hours by 1 vote.  An anomaly?  Or the beginning of the second night vote?

What a joke . . .

Sonic? That blue ball thing? I can't believe it won.

Again, Crono has LUMINAIRE. This is a character battle. Seems as though many gamefaqs users never understand the true meanings of polls. I mean, the majority of them are what, below the age of 12?

If everyone on gamefaqs played Chrono Trigger, I gaurentee Crono a candidate every time.

It's not that surprising - the old Sonic games were a lot of fun, and Sonic was a pretty cool character.  I think it's pretty cool Crono made it as far as he did, considering Chrono Trigger was a game that wasn't nearly as popular as other games of its day.

I voted for sonic :D

As much as I love Crono, Sonic is what I grew up with - but it was a tough choice nonetheless.

Heathen.....

Though I'm glad Link took the Battle Royale. To tell the truth I like both Cloud AND Link so it was a whatever moment for me. Still more people know Link.

But Crono lost.....

I don't see the character development attraction of Link at all. He seems to be a cookie cutter hero riding on only the merits of appearing badass and having fun games. So he's not my favorite character, mainly because he's two dimensional.

I doubt Crono could have won, but there'd be more fame and attention for the Chrono Series if he had reached the Battle Royale!
