It continues to increase in insanity. Max Goldberg (YTMND owner) just received a C&D from Neil Bauman, Ebaum's dad (who apparently likes getting over a million a year from ad revenue just like his son).

LUElinks, YTMND, and a few others invaded the ebuams world boards. That's all I know, I gather that it was over a controversial bit of content on ebauns world.

Aren't most people angry with eBaum's World for, like, hosting movies and flash and claiming it was theirs originally or something like that? That's what I'd heard anyway.

eBaum's world will take images collected from sites like Something Awful, Fark, Weebl and Bob, and most recently ytmnd.com and host them on their site. They also add a "eBaum's world.com" tag to the images and flashes, often overwriting the original tag of the person who made it. So using stolen content, and not crediting the original owner they get a lot of traffic. They also make TONS of money off the ads they sell.

So they get money for other people's work.

This is why the Internet is a curious study in human behavior. How could something as ridiculous as a forum invasion possibly address the underlying problem of plagiarized material? It can't, unless the victims of this invasion allow their emotions to overwhelm their business judgment--which often is the case.

It's all so ridiculous! We can only but laugh, and take care not to make such folly ourselves.
