Radical Dreamers
« on: April 12, 2018, 07:28:37 pm »
So after I'm done with Crimson Echoes I would love to play Radical Dreamers. Is this game also available online like Crimson Echoes is? If so, where can I get it?

Thanks!

There are definitely places where you can get an English Radical Dreamers ROM, but I probably couldn't tell you where here.

There's also a browser-based version of Radical Dreamers. It's not a long game and it's worth multiple playthroughs. You can easily get through one in a single gaming session.

Also, the English ROM for Radical Dreamers is easy to find with a Google search, although I deter anyone linking directly to it for posterity's sake.

Yeah after I posted this I read the Compendium's section on the game and realized I shouldn't have asked where to find it.  :o That's ok, now that I know it's online, I'll be able to find it when I'm ready.

Thanks guys!  :D

Hope you enjoy it! It's very heavy on atmosphere, so I always find it best to play at night.

Thank you for the tip Kodokami! I noticed lately when I'm playing Crimson Echoes it's also at night so I'll just keep that going!  :D

Radical Dreamers is super underrated and genuinely fun to play if you enjoy the stylistic tone it sets. Pound for pound, I think I actually like Radical Dreamers more than Chrono Cross. And I 100% agree with Kodokami: Play it at night, when it's peaceful and quiet.

The game has different scenarios. The first time you play, you'll always get the same one, but if you play it again afterward you'll get something completely different (albeit in the same setting with the same characters).

When you start it, I'd love to get your reactions! I get so much envy/appreciate for others when they get to experience a part of the Chrono universe for the first time.

I will! I'm still working on Crimson Echoes and I'm REALLY enjoying it. I only get to play it for a few hours on the weekends, which is why it's taking me forever to get through it. Ha ha! I just finished defeating Kong, so I'm excited to see what's next! I even defeated Kong on my first try!  :o I thought it was going to take forever. LOL I will definitely let you know when I start Radical Dreamers!  :D

The great thing about Crimson Echoes being a ROM hack is that, if push comes to shove, you can use emulator cheat codes. In fact, you can use the same ones for Chrono Trigger, since Crimson  Echoes is a ROM hack of the original Chrono Trigger game data. Woohoo!

So... is it weird that I want to beat it without using cheats? Even if that means hours of grinding? I feel like I'm well... cheating if I use a cheat code. LOL

Of course that reminds me..... do you remember the Game Genie from way back when? That thing was so much fun!!

Nothing wrong with not cheating! I honestly can't remember if I ever tried it or not. I probably did, to be honest; I remember the difficulty spiked here and there in CE.

As for the Game Genie, heck yes! I'm an NES kid first and foremost. The first game I ever played was Jaws... and it was an abysmal game.

The first game I remember playing is the original Mario Brothers. I loved to use the zero gravity code on the Game Genie for that game! Ah, good times. LOL

I used to fiddle with the codes for Super Mario World. I made a code that let you swim in any stage once.
