I'm not entirely sure if this has ever been brought up or noticed, but it's not in the Cheats and Glitches of Chrono Cross section of the encyclopedia, so...

In my Solo Serge Run, Criosphinx exhibited odd behavior, something I swear I've never seen before.
From the thread:
"And he mysteriously glitched everytime I started the battle - he'd cast Earthquake, then mysteriously fail to cast ThundaStorm, Earthquake again, and ThundaStorm again, despite the names appearing in quick succession on screen. I don't know for sure if I would have survived them, but I know for sure I could at least handle 3 in succession, anyway, having 395 Max HP."
Maybe Criosphinx is the only enemy in the game that can cast multiple offensive elements in a row, thus they didn't heavily bugtest the possibility, not planning for this situation?

Also, there was another incident in this same run, with the DeadHead boss on the S.S. Invincible...
"But he did pull an odd bug[?] with Cursed/DarkBreath. I was at 1 Stamina, in the middle of an attack chain, when he interrupted me with DarkBreath - and at the end of the attack, I had 7 Stamina. Had I run out of Stamina, [forcibly ending my turn,] he'd have attacked me, but he didn't. Especially as I saw my Stamina somehow jump straight from 1 to 7, never going to 0 first. Very strange..."
I would guess that...nevermind, I'm stumped. Going from 1 to 7 I suppose makes a weird sort of sense, but not one following the rules of the game, and one following a logic I can't put into words. Cursed status has before put me below 1.0 Stamina in the middle of an attack chain, but after the fact, it always puts me back in control of the afflicted character. Attack and Element are greyed out, but I can still Defend. Switching to another character without taking an action with the less-than-1-Stamina character essentially ends the bug. But in this case, like I said, instead of putting me at less than 1.0 and still leaving me in control of Serge, it rolled back up to 7.0. Very strange, to me at least.

Any ideas? Any insight? Anyone...?

I've never fought the Crisosphinx. And the DeadHead... vaguely remember it. But there are times that I've been doing an attack chain and a monster interrupts me with an attack and I have 7 stamina left. I do believe, though, that the Time Devourer can use multiple offensive spells in a row. I think. Not sure, though.

All the more reason to go on a Chrono Cross kick.

For the Criosphinx thing, could it have been that you cast AntiYellow on him at some point?

I doubt he lacks immunity to it - even if, though, why would he succeed in casting a Yellow element despite being in AntiYellow, then immediately fail thrice in succession without giving me a chance to do anything to him between his first and his second element?
[Edit: xD I like the quote in your signature. "this isn't 4chan. Have fun if you want, but don't be asses..." Awesome.]

Argh, I forgot! Yes, the Dragon God (I refuse to call the boss at the top of Terra Tower "TimeDevourer"...just adds to confusion, and seems inaccurate to me anyway.) can indeed cast multiple Elements in rapdifire succession without being interrupted. But I don't think any of them involved in a multi-cast are multi-target. I'm not gonna swear to that, as I don't think she's ever stayed in a form long enough for me to see her full AI in each form, but just to say, I don't think I've seen a multi-spell-cast involving a multi-target Element.

Oh wait, could it have had some status itself? Like maybe it had Sprain...? And some bosses just have weird immunities (I've cast AntiBlack on FATE before & had it stick for example)...

I hope it wasn't some kind of status effect. I cast one element the whole fight - Diminish. [Edit: Derf, I also HEALED myself, my bad. But I mean as in anything that would affect Criosphinx in some way. And before he failed to cast three elements in a row, Diminish was all I used - any healing I did came after the fact, when he ceased to fail in casting something.] From there, I just spammed Fierces, and Defended before his physical assaults. So Criosphinx developing a status effect from that? I hope not! @_@ Chrono Cross is confusing enough, especially with status effect inconsistancies...

I stand by my notion (of late) that status effects overall have limited effect on enemies. Frozen doesn't seem to last nearly as long on them. I've never noticed any change in critical hit rate on an Afraid enemy. Fatigued/Flu seemingly does nothing to change their attack frequency. Burns might give a SLIGHT decrease to Defense, but seems to be a negligible damage difference, but only on enemies of course x_X. Confused works about as randomly against enemies as against allies, so I guess I can't complain there. ...What does Dizzy do, again? And Sprain, eh, like Burns, not much of a notable difference, slight random variance shift at most. Poison seems to work okay (I guess, anyway, as I rarely use InfoScope, much less try to track their HP counts). Darkness, let's not go there - enemy accuracy on my allies seems so completely random that I give up trying to find consistency - amazingly enough, Dopplegangs are extremely reliable on physical accuracy, especially compared to the AI controlled form of monsters. Cursed is like Fatigued and Flu, no effect I've noticed. Asleep is like a weaker form of Frozen, it seems to last even shorter. I think that covers them...
Oops, sorry, didn't mean to start ranting about something unrelated. My bad. @_@
