English is the only one I can really claim fluency in. If it weren't for the damn cases (I'm terrible at memorizing the endings), I could  claim that my Russian is great. Listening, vocab and comprehension are pretty good. If I speak quickly - or drunkenly - enough, my pronunciation is decent enough to fool people into ignoring my awful grammar! I had no trouble there this summer, save for the amusing challenge of telling Dead Baby Jokes in Russian.

French, I can still read pretty well but that's about it. My spoken french is just horrendous. I can't even pronounce the 'ph' in a word like 'telephoner' without it being infected with this ghastly hybrid of English and Russian.

My girlfriend is bilingual and she is trying to teach me Spanish since that is what her family speaks. But so far all I've been able to learn are extremely vulgar things like "yo tango un penetote in mis pantalones para joder" or extremely mundane things like "puedo tenir mas huevos y leche por favor" (grammar?). I know others too, like a long list of swears and household objects. I blame her. I should get Rosetta Stone.

English is my main language.  Rough rough Italian work being done...took a few years off and now I'm juuuust wading back into it.  Oh and Eric I've thought about Rosetta Stone as well, though I haven't tried it.  I'll let ya know if I do.

I speak English, and I know enough Spanish to survive, should I be stranded somewhere where they speak Spanish. I speak it on about a 6th grade level.

I guess my first language is both a mixture of Spanish and English. I learned both when I was just a small child. I know about three or four words in Japanese and I am going to start taking French classes inn High School.

Shall we start writing our own language in a different phoenetic alphabet, then compile the characters into a font and assign each letter to a different key on the keyboards? =D

My first language is French and my second is English. I know VERY little German and Latin. I have to thank my dad for my learning of English, if he hadn't been in the Army I wouldn't have gotten to move around and learn english.

Languages are fun and unfortunately they are a boundary between humans, if only we could all speak the same language, I think we'd get along better in general.. maybe.

Pity that Esperanto never took off in that sense!

I think I'll pick up Japanese and German, just for fun. Shouldn't be too hard, given that I already know Korean and French.

I'll probably be picking up Ancient Greek sooner or later.
