A minor note or two about the CTP? ^^;
« on: January 01, 2005, 03:22:16 am »
Well... this being my 2nd post here, I hope I can make a decent impression... (I'm a shy person... ^^; )

For starters.... about the Zeal Dungeon in the CTP? Yanno how there's this one door towards the top? The one with the purple symbol? Isnt the door frame two... small... for a normal character sprite if you were to stand it in front or side by side? To go through it, they better like to limbo. However, it'd be perfect for a FFVI SD sprite...

2nd note... I was reading the encyclopedia section, across the CTP Rumor Debunking, and #8 mentions 3 pillars of light and how they would've been lucky to see it? Well, I once saw that area completely by accident (think I was warping), and while it was completely unwalkable (like if you were to warp via Epoch), it has no pillars. Period. It was just blank. ^^;

Anyways, both probably already been mentioned, but eh.... ^^;

1) Could probably be a proportioning problem. That happens sometimes in CT.

2) Did you take any screenshots, by chance? I'm have a feeling that you're right, as from the small area you can see when you go there via Epoch, you can't see any sprites (Gaspar and the little dot that's on Lavo's bucket) and I presume the gates are sprites.

Oh, and welcome aboard.

*shakes head* Now I wish I did...

Actually, I remember that I was able to move around.... not past the gate, of course, but I was able to run freely around that small little square.

Which ended up with me resetting my game because I couldn't actually get anywhere.

I'll try and do it later, though...

Yeah, try to get some screenshots, okay!  It sounds really interesting.

Gate there from the warp in Guardia Forest, and I think you'll end up in the square. That's also the only warp that (with the area modifier code) would make the Lavos fight work right... I think.

Edit: Indeed. The gate in Guardia Forest drops you right into the three pillar room--walkable and everything. The initial three pillars (like the final) are visible, but the objects to allow warping through the pillars are not present. The door to the main chamber is also unopenable.
For another rumor: There is a topside "warp" (for lack of a better term, just a normal entrance.) to the Zealian ... place under the pyramid. The only problem is that the pyramid is always there, and as such, it is typically unenterable. Same with Mt. Woe--they misplaced the warp and put it on unwalkable ground. (It's somewhere around the top-center of the screen with the chain on it.) I remember there being a code to allow walking through some walls while still reacting to objects and warps... I'll try to find it sometime.

I'll do this and get a screenshot of the End of Time. Good luck finding the WTW code; the one we have now doesn't allow you to walk through some tiles and yes, does not allow you to use exits.

That'll let you use the pyramid entrance.  Lavos battle works ok with the loc mod and WTW, no need to use a gate.

I've updated the Sealed Pyramid section. I'm having problems activating the warp in Guardia Forest, though; where is it?

You walk up onto the grey ramp and walk around near the center of the pyramid.

I should point out, that WTW is far from perfect, and has very limited uses over the regular WTW.

I recently discovered how to make a flawless WTW on the retail ver.  I'll try porting it to the pre.

Oops... In Guardia forest, I meant gate, not warp. Just the ordinary 1000 AD gate, setting the location mod when you enter the gate itself. And I don't think I ever managed to make the Lavos battle happen from just WTW... I know the Guardia Forest gate will trigger it perfectly, though.

Thanks, Skree, for finding it for me.... even if my memory is kind of lousy. I was driving myself nuts trying to remember how to it. ^^;

Eh heh... I'm currently doing CT Pre and Beta Quest (Z64) at the same time. Yay? @_o

Betas rule; I wish the Goldeneye 007 beta actually surfaced. Subdrag is doing an excellent job hacking that game.

Aha, so you're that Skreename, from the Location digits. That's cool.

I will add all the new information. It's fun to have ground broken again in the Prerelease.

*nods* Betas and alphas are fun, but the BQ for OoT isnt exactly a true beta, and it would be nice if we could have a pre-release demo to work with....

However, if I start mumbling on about how the Gorons replaced the Guardian ontop of Mt. Woe, or how they have gone missing from Death Mtn., shoot me. =P
