Why not point out the similarities?

First, the characters.

Crono=Fred: The self-proclaimed leader of their rag-tag group, plus nothing he says really matters. And look at that ASCOT!

Marle=Daphne: The ditsy, rich attractive female stuck to the leader like velcro.

Lucca=Velma: The smarty-pants, glasses-sportin, orange-top-wearin, keep-to-herself, ambiguous sexuality chick. (this one's the most obvious comparison, methinks!)

Frog=Scooby: The talking animal that always seems to find his way into the monster's lair and survive, albeit confused.

Epoch=Mystery Machine: Everywhere the vehicle goes, there's adventure.

Magus=Masked Monster: The guy you think is bad pretty much the whole time turns out to be trying to protect his own shit the whole time, effectively rendering him selfish, though not necessarily evil.

Robo or Ayla=Shaggy: Keep on chuggin. Your guess is as good as mine.

It's not a perfect analogy. But the similarities are kinda funny.

Hah. I remember hearing this analogy years ago, the only difference was that Ayla was Scooby and Frog was Shaggy or something. I'm gonna try and dig that up.

Ayla is a drunk, less obvious in the localizations, I think, while Shaggy is a stoner, less obvious if you're, idk...under 4? Though so is Scooby, so I could see Ayla being the dog too...Plus, I remember when people used to debate if that was really a tail she was sporting.

Maybe I should move this to the Reality, Real-World Connections and the Supernatural Analysis forum!

It's hard to fit Robo into the scheme. Maybe as Scrappy. They are often oblivious to what's going on around them, yet they find clues. Robo needs electricity, and Scrappy runs on Puppy-power. Eh?

You know "Chrono Doo" would've had a much better ring to it.
