Who would you cast in a Chrono Trigger anime?
Here are a few I thought of:

Crono: Sean Schemmel (This one is obvious. After all, he played Goku.)

Lucca: Tiffany Vollmer (Ditto- she played Bulma.)

Marle: Caitlin Glass (I've been imagining Marle with Winry Rockbell's voice lately.)

Frog: Chris Sabat (Especially since he played a different frog before [Giroro from Sgt. Frog]. I always imagined Glenn with a deep voice.)

Magus: Steve Blum (His Wolverine voice would be a nice fit.)

Schala: Wendee Lee (I was watching Haruhi Suzumiya while making the list, and as this moment came on: http://youtu.be/s8PECD9lp08?t=6m55s
things just clicked. I think it would work.)

Dalton: Vic Mignogna (After seeing his role in Soul Eater as Spirit/Death Scythe, I somehow feel he would do a good job as Dalton. Probably because both Dalton and Spirit have a lot of silly moments with their stupidity played for laughs.)

Cyrus: Travis Willingham (Cyrus with Roy Mustang's voice would be perfect)

Flea: John Burgmeier (Mainly because I mistook both Flea and Kurama as chicks at first.)

Dream Splash V - Middle Ages [2012] / Re: Dream Splash V!

As soon as my friend brings me back my flash drive, I'll have chapter 8 of Crono Returns ready, and it focuses on the Frog King quite a bit, I even provide a backstory for him since I always thought he would be a great fanfic fuel (Though it doesn't seem like anyone really cared to write about him...)
Not sure if that counts though, since it's only one chapter in a pretty long fanfic.

Good news and bad news:
The good news: I just finished chapter 8.
Bad news: I can't seem to find the flash drive I keep all my fanfictions on. I think I might've left it at a friend's house, so, well, let's just hope it'll be there, because I really don't feel like typing that chapter again...

General Discussion / Re: Do You Believe in "God"?

You know tushantin, you make some very interesting and valid points. Perhaps I was being ignorant when I said knowledge of these things would make absolutely no difference. Hell, I was being about as ignorant as the people saying "God created the universe, end of story no discussion."
It certainly would help us understand the world around us better, and that's definitely useful information in one way or another. Kudos to you for opening my mind a bit, though I still believe humanity could do without that knowledge.

I've FINALLY nearly finished chapter 8. Expect it in a few days at most.

I've decided to participate in a recent Cracked contest:

When one letter ruins everything. I wanted to make a Chrono Tigger picture, but someone on Deviant Art already made a super awesome one. So instead I went with these:

Yeah, the same thing happened to Deadman Wonderland

Heh, that Magus video was one of the first videos I watched on YouTube :)

Anyhow, I also entered this contest. These were my entries:

I don't like this next one much, though. +100 cool points to anyone who gets the reference:

@ProtomanX904: You seem to have a thing for complexities and comedy! Based on your current preferences, I'll suggest a few related ones.  8)

Batman: Under the Red Hood (This one was EPIC, I tell ya!)

I saw it. It was my favorite Batman movie since Batman Mask of the Phantasm, though I'd probably put Dark Knight Returns over it now. Seriously, I love Dark Knight Returns; one of my favorite graphic novels of all time.

Baccano! (I just can't recommend this enough! Short series, but packs plenty of punch with memorable characters; story takes place in three different points in time, with the conclusion bringing all the protagonists and circumstances into place)

I heard it was by the same person who made Death Note, and that's the extent I heard of it. I'm planning on checking it out after Wolf's Rain is finished.

Kuroshitsuji / Black Butler (Square Enix's take on a modern-age Faust legend)

This is another one I heard of but didn't quite get to yet.

Code Geass (Imagine Gurren Lagann meets Deathnote)

I tried getting into this show. I just didn't like it.

K (I know, weird name: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9EHwWv_N8-8 )

Video didn't work, but I'll be sure to check this out later.

Get Backers (If you like Yu Yu Hakusho, you're bound to love this. It centers around two protagonists and their service called "Get Backers", who are bound to "Get Back" anything that's lost or stolen from you, for a small fee. But there ordinary debt-burdened jobless heroes are no ordinary people, and what they deal with aren't ordinary misadventures either)

Interesting. If it's on par with YYH, it's gotta be awesome. *Added to checklist*

Fate/Stay Night (Because Yu Yu Hakusho is so awesome. What would you get when a bunch of sorcerers resurrect a group of legendary heroes of the past into a gladiatorial warfare? Grand epicness, that's what.)

I've heard about this one. I haven't added it to my checklist yet, though.

Tears to Tiara (What can I say? I enjoy some Celtic fantasy)

Never heard of this one, but I'll look it up sometime.

Sword Art Online (Think .hack// series meets Hunger Games; this anime has its flaws due to target audience direction, but it's still fun to watch due to its interesting concepts)

I never cared for .hack// or Hunger Games, heh heh. Oh well, I'll be sure to give it a shot.

Ranma 1/2 (By the creator of Inu Yasha; it's a Martial Arts Comedy of a romantically clueless and outrageously straightforward protagonist who shifts genders depending on the temperature of water, and making weird enemies who have their own enemies)

I watched both this and Inuyasha before; I dislike both.

School Rumble (Since you like Haruhi Suzumiya, I think this should be worth watching. The series is a mix of different genres centred around comedy and parody, surrounding this guy who likes this girl who likes this Gary Stu who actually likes pancakes. They even threw in a Super Saiyan in there...)

The summary made me laugh. I'll check it out.

Vanguard (Actually inspired by Yu-Gi-Oh!, hence the similar genre)

I've heard of this one but didn't care much to check it out.

Captain Harlock -- The Space Odyssey (an epic Sci-Fi fairytale)

I am interested.

And since you like X-Men series....

1) X-Men Evolution (think of it as a prequel, but inspired by the Ultimate Marvel universe)
This and Welcome to the NHK were this close to making the list.

2) Wolverine and the X-Men
I stopped watching after a few episodes. Didn't care for it.

3) Wolverine: The Anime (ever imagined if Marvel heroes were animated by anime studios and Japan?)
I saw this along with the X-Men and Iron Man animes. They were alright.

4) Ironman: The Anime (Ditto)
Ditto

This post gave me the opportunity to look up some of the greater anime that were "right below my nose" but have missed (and hence can't remember some of their name), such as Umineko no Naku Koro Ni, and a sci-fi series about one of the twins being killed (can't remember the name) which had a compelling storyline. And since my recent anime hiatus, I think it's time I return to it.

Also, looking back, I can't help but feel I should have switched Soul Eater and Gurren Lagann's spots. Oh well.

I'm about 4/5 through Wolf's Rain; definitely top 20 material. I love Yoko Kanno's soundtracks.

This list isn't definitive; I'm up for reccomendations!
And yes, I'm checking out Wolf's Rain next.

I'd also like to see the series let you travel through space. Perhaps with the Epoch?

Fan Fiction / Crono Returns- Chapter 8 is here!
« on: November 30, 2012, 11:11:21 pm »
Hello everyone, this is a fanfiction of Chrono Trigger that I've been working on for a while. You see, I've been playing Chrono Trigger since the day it came out, and it has always been my favorite game. When I heard that Chrono Cross, a sequel to my favorite game was coming, I got extremely excited.

I got it on day 1, and immediately I was... disappointed. The only returning character was (arguably) Magus (and Crono if you think Miguel is him, which I don't), and I didn't care for many of the new characters. Instead of 7 great characters with plenty of importance on the plot and development, we got... 50 characters, with maybe 3 or 4 of them getting any development or any plot revolving around them besides their introduction.

Plus, it blatantly (Not to mention pointlessly) killed off many of the characters I knew and loved, which is one of the main reasons I don't like to think of it as a true sequel and more like a spin-off/what-if scenario.

This fanfiction is the story I wanted from a CT sequel; since Square Enix won't do it themselves, I decided to write it myself.
I'm not just paying tribute to my favorite game; there are several homages to other things I love, the most obvious being Batman (Hell, the title and cover are inspired by Dark Knight Returns, which is my favorite Batman comic).
I also took a few liberties such as making Crono talk and giving Fritz a major role, so I hope that doesn't bother you.

Without further ado, I hope you enjoy, though I should probably warn you that it's rated M mainly for violence and language.
