Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Question about Sprigg's Dopplegang

I'm talking about general cases. I put the Lava-boy as an example, without realizing it can't be copied.

The Save Points had to be my most WTF?! moment in CT. Imagine, an 8-year old playing, when he suddenly is assaulted by the very things that worked to help him. Needless to say, I avoided save points up to Zeal, if only because I kept getting game overs, and was also getting into tons of trouble for leaving the SNES on while I was sleeping/at school.

Some kids feared the Boogie Man, I feared Save Points.

Edit: spelling errors

Yes, I was quite freaked out by that at first...but they're painfully easy to defeat, so I ended up liking them because they were just so random.

They didn't even have names!

Do they even attack you? Then never did to me.

Anyway, I would say Djinn Bottles, but they aren't here (poor things, all of the ones at Heckran's cave never reappear, although the Jackpots at the Lost Sanctum do). But since they're, I'll go for the Ions.

Polling / Re: Should a new game+ game be harder?
« on: September 05, 2012, 03:00:08 pm »
Interesting poll ! I choose harder because it could really add to the challenge ; CT has very few difficult bosses. This is element  that made Diablo II a successful game ( the possibility to restart with your current state in a much higher difficulty). I don't see why it couldn't work with jRPGs especially when you can max your character that much.

This.

If enemies are harder, you should also been given the chance to get better equipment not available in the first playthrough, much like in the Diablo series.

So, without cheat devices or anything, which one is chosen?

History, Locations, and Artifacts / Re: The Zeal Ruins
« on: September 04, 2012, 11:41:56 am »
Here's a little theory I've had... maybe more of a dream than a theory, even, but a theory nonetheless.

The Zeal ruins north of Medina, where you find the Swallow and the Safe Helm. If you remember, you can see that area in Zeal as well when you are there, but it is never accessible. I find this quite mysterious. I've often found myself wondering why they'd go through all that trouble just to keep a sword and some armor from being accessed. It seems like a waste of space. They protect it with the power of a pendant, and those items are outclassed by other items. What if there is something else there that is never explained in the game? Something so powerful or profound that it was locked up behind the power of a pendant so that it could stand the test of time? Perhaps something underground, perhaps something hidden. Who knows? We don't, obviously, but it's fun to play with the ideas of what could be there.

What do you all think?

Maybe those sealed chests you find across the whole world were also inside the pyramid, but they were scarcered during the 12000 incident, and the Swallow and the Safe Helm were the only items that stood inside the building.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Magical and robotic enemies in CT?
« on: September 04, 2012, 10:52:48 am »
Which enemies count as magical and robotic enemies? I just know that the former are sensible to the Demon Hit and the latter to the Plasma Gun. The CT encyclopedia here doesn't tell the types, even though the CC one does.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Question about Sprigg's Dopplegang
« on: September 04, 2012, 10:26:53 am »
In CC, some enemies have several different variants. For example Lava-boys have 3 variants: the one at Another Mount Pyre, the one at Home Mount Pyre, and the one at Lucca's house. If you kill one of them, which variant is added to Sprigg's list? The last one what has been killed? The strongest? The weakest?

Well, that's game mechanic not game script. Besides, dwarves and goblins are not demi-human IMO.

The dwarves appear in the Dragon God ending along with the demi-humans in Arni Village. I do consider them demi-humans.
