Well, Eden was the paradise where Man was created. Most of the animals (possibly plant life, too) that existed before were placed in that Garden by God, so you can look at it as the origin of life.

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Lavos and the Beginning

Whoa! This suddenly got very deep!

Nice parallels between Lavos and Tolkien's mythology . Perhaps Lavos could have been like Melkor (Morgoth) or Sauron. Remember, Sauron was once a Maia spirit that was seduced by Morgoth, so Lavos, whatever it is, could have a much deeper story reaching back to the very origin of the universe, maybe like a creation myth or something. I recall that the script mentioned that Lavos was filled with anger and sadness. What?! Lavos has feelings?! What could this mean? Does Lavos seek vengeance on someone or something greater than has been revealed?

Other Topics and the Prerelease / Chrono Cross Script Help & Analysis

Wow! This suddenly became very interesting!

When do the characters make these statements?

Yeah, that makes sense.  :)

I have been replaying through Chrono Cross, and I've just completed the Dead Sea. I think I have figured out my Dead Sea questions, so nobody has to worry about that.

I am, however, still confused about whether or not FATE really cared about Home World.

Not to mention, I'm still not sure what the exact reason is for Serge negating Crono's actions, but I noticed something interesting that the ghost figure of Crono stated:

Crono: The vengeance of the future we killed is about to begin... With Serge serving as the trigger...

Is this what the script means by Serge being the Chrono Trigger? He is the Chrono Trigger that revived the Lavos Timeline? I don't think that the ghost of Crono used the word "trigger" lightly.

Also, could this be a reference to Serge being the Arbiter of the Frozen Flame, which would contribute to him being a Chrono Trigger? I recall that someone in Viper Manor stated that the Frozen Flame was said to have the ability to change history. If the Frozen Flame could do this, and if Serge is the Arbiter of the Flame, then could this be the reason that he is a Chrono Trigger? A Chrono Trigger that will trigger the revenge of the Lavos Timeline?

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Serge = Janus Theory

Here is an idea that is somewhat farfetched:

Janus: One among you will shortly perish.

Janus predicted the death of Crono.

Serge "predicted" his murdering of Kid.

You must be joking. Premonitions are hardly a unique circumstance! True, Serge has some foresight, as does the child-prince Janus, but the ability to read and feel omens being a commonality is hardly grounds for them being the same.

Can this theory not simply die once disproven? The fact of the matter is simply this: Serge looks different, thus his bone structure and DNA is inherently different. On the physical side, they are surely not the same. Likewise, mentally: Janus is swift to angry speech, Serge is silent and compassionate. The only caring Janus shows is for his sister, whereas Serge cares for everyone in his group and, indeed, if the path goes differently, spurns her company upon first meeting. If he was truly Janus, and had any trace of such a mindset, that is not a very caring or brotherly way to act, considering they had been seperated by millennia. Thus their emotions differ as well. So what then remains? The soul? Perhaps, but nothing can be proven either way for, if the soul does not make its presence apparent, neither then would it have any influence on their caring for Schala, thus it may be discounted.

So there we have it, and I hope finally. Even if Serge WERE Janus, he is so changed that he is inherently a different person, and his caring for Schala is no different than that which any other would give to her, had they known her as well as he did. In fact, his love of her is far more amorous, and if he is truly her brother, that would be a strange thing. If Serge is Janus, Janus is dead. But to even assume this, one must raise only the loosest connections possible. And are we not forgetting Guile in this? Yes, there was an intent for someone to be Janus: Guile. Why then would they, if they lacked the time to tell his story, covertly mean another to be Janus? It is quite the absurd stretch.

It's as simple as that.

I said that it was a farfetched idea.

But why would it be called the Sea of Eden?

I have a question.
I'm not completely sure about this.

Why was El Nido called the "Sea of Eden"?

Was it because supposedly life began in the location of the El Nido islands (Gaea's Navel) aeons ago? Perhaps this is why there are so many temporal distortions within that whole region of the sea? Afterall, the reason why Chronopolis was built in El Nido was to study the strange behavior and temporal distortions of the area, and to possibly use their discoveries to create a counter-time experiment.

P.S. Steena spoke of the "Land of Genesis". Was she referring to the Sea of Eden?

85
So, then FATE didn't really care about Home World's future?

FATE just wanted to bring Serge to Another World, and that was its only interest in Home World, right?

(Just trying to clear up some things)

Characters, Plot, and Themes / Lucca vs Lynx

Luccia cannot use magic, and is no where NEAR the calibur of Lucca in terms of combat.

Good point!

I understand.

Gosh, this game gets much more complicated when you try to analyze all of the smaller details!  :)
