Would I regret it if I were to inquire as to what a wumpus is?

Hmm, a thing I am wondering about is possibly the psychology of your posting what could essentially be a college paper on the subject, especially as you mention that you expect yourself to be considered overweight/possibly obese in the future, and more, glad of it. Yet you seem very concerned about the conceptions/prejudices people have about overweight people. Assuming that you are straight and white, possibly you're more worried about people aiming their prejudices at you in the future, and this worry has worked itself out in an abundance of text?

But that's not really adding anything more to the discussion you're trying to have, which I apologize for.

....Although I am curious who think 120lbs is ideal for someone 5'8. Geez that's freaking skinny. What about T&A!?

....Hiding now.

Didn't a son kill his mother over American Idol a few months ago?

"When God shows us that a specific activity is controlling our lives, we should break away from it for a time. This 'fast' could be from food, movies, music, video games, anything taking us away from loving God. While some of these things may not be bad in and of themselves, they become idols if they distract us from our first love (Colossians 3:5; Revelation 2:4)."

Wah ha ha hah! Give up food, movies, music, and games? So what am I supposed to do with my time? Have sex all day?

Well, if you're not married they'd probably say no to that too.

Gah, ok, but my point mainly was not the government that controls the country, but rather the people who populate it.

I think maybe your point got a bit derailed by your examples of violence, which were mainly decided/orchestrated/carried out by the government for the most part. Perhaps better examples of violence for the discussion you were going for would include things that the people themselves did without a government okay. Such as lynch mobs, a variety of hate crimes against black people or gay people, the Oklahoma City bombing, or even the recent event in which US soldiers over in the Middle East went and raped a woman and killed her family. (but then a counter point to the last would be that they were killed in revenge, and it's difficult to use that as an example because the people they were dealing with were apparently just as willing to be as violent as they were, and were from another country).

Also, when talking about a nation as a whole, it is easier to refer to the government and its actions and how these represent the country overall.  (And politicians, regardless of their party, are power hungry to some extent, or they wouldn't be running for the positions they do - I'm sure there are a few here or there who genuinely want to do what they believe is good, and to be fair/just leaders, but for the most part, and especially those that run for position as president? power hungry. but... err... that might be digressing a bit.)

Besides, I don't think it's really just people from the United States as a whole who are violent - humans in general have always had a violent history. For example - the Rape of Nanking.
In fact, the few Americans present at Nanking at the time (mostly missionaries) set up a Saftey Zone which is believed to have saved many lives.

How does difference in skin colour affect the vaccine? And is that vaccine really that successful? If it was, I think it would not just be in the news, it'd be up on billboards every fucking day.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/21/AR2006052100960_3.html

The skin color is just the obvious part - what probably affects the vaccine if they were even on to anything in the first place would be the geneological differences between races.

For the most part, many people wrote off the results as unsuccessful, and did not want to waste money on further tests to see whether the guy might've been on to something, assuming that he was simply trying to grasp for anything useful from his years of research, unwilling to admit that they spent so long going in the wrong direction.

Hmm, since I just recently finished the first KH game, I thought Ansem was interesting in a very obvious Faust sort of way, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he was the best. Just Faust-themes interesting to me for the moment. Or something.

Always loved to hate Kefka. :D

And some of the moments dealing with Jenova/Sephiroth in FF7 gave me the chills, though I attribute this mostly to the good timing/how fitting the music was to certain scenes.

I didn't mind Kuja too much either, despite the entire thing where he pretty much just goes SSj4 near the end, and the fact that with how he dresses, I almost thought he was a she at first... *coughs*

When the person in question can't spell "you're".  Or "astrological".

Aww, but grammatical/spelling nitpicking is so below the belt.

Unless the person is just so damn awful you can't read what they're saying at all... then it might be a point to consider...
