My ex boyfriend is a 3D modeler and, not only was he making a Zeal Kingdom map mod for the game Half Life 2, but he was doing some excellent work on my own sprite. He made my head nearly perfectly -- and he did it by cutting out and inflating a screenshot of adult Kid.

Okay everyone. I know so far I've been all talk and no action, but hopefully when I get the surpplies working, I'll get to it. A few announcements though:

Chrono Flux will be frozen for now. I hope to continue it someday and everything will be safely preserved til then. And, as I said before, the Chrono MMO is only a consideration, so it doesn't count.
The Chrono spinoff manga I will begin drafting tomorrow (Monday)
The custom Warcraft III campaign of Chrono will most likely be started once a few 3D character models have been made.
The reason Chrono Flux is on hold is because just now I stumbled upon the binutils and a development environment for making GBA, NDS, and PSP games in Free Pascal! I'll be researching a few projects for educational purposes and once I know where to start, I'm declaring that I will be initiating a Chrono Trigger remake for GBA! I'll be regularly putting the source code on backup and once it reaches a milestone, a SourceForge project page will be set up so that an SVN repository will be available to everyone

Chrono Trigger Advance will be Chrono Trigger rewritten from scratch. It will use the lovable SNES sprites with some additions, as well as a few new tracks. Here is what you can expect...

Replay the Chrono Trigger storyline just how it was on SNES (to the best of my recreational ability)
Handy new features like a beastiary, much like in the Final Fantasy 1-6 remakes for GBA
Beating the game once will unlock a new storyline: Schala's Diary. In her journey to find Serge again, it seems Schala has goofed up and now the events of Chrono Trigger have all screwed up. She must relive the game in place of Crono. Numerous playable characters will have swapped roles -- since when did Crono become the prince of Guardia? Where's Marle?!

Expect new dialogue for all characters and a hilarious twist to the game!

Well, I know I have a handful of stuff planned, but away from gaming for a second, I've also been planning a manga for the past few months.

The thought of this came to me with I was watching Magical Girl Pretty Sammy, which is a spinoff of Tenchi Muyo that I believe spoofs Sailor Moon. That's when the thought occurred to me: make a Chrono spinoff that spoofs Sailor Moon. I know, I know, pretty silly thought yes?

Being as this is a bonified spinoff, most character roles have been changed.

The story goes like this: 14 millenia ago was a magical kingdom called Zeal, but its tyrant Queen leads it to doom, summoning a prehistoric parasite named Lavos, hoping to absorb its power for her own desires. Her daughter, deeply saddened by her mother's lust for power, and herself having to channel energy into her Mammon machine numerous times, dies of a broken heart. An admirer of hers, Prince Janus, enchants her pendant for rebirth. He exploits Lavos' power and creates a time rift to modern day. He tosses the pendant in before the rift becomes too unstable for travel.

In the year 1991, a Tokyo nurse by the name Lucca Ashtear notices a peculiar blue-haired infant in an alley behind her hospital workplace. Around its neck was the Royal Pendant of Zeal, with the letters S-C-H-A-L-A engraved in them. Lucca takes her in as her own adopted daughter, naming her Schala Ashtear.

Aware of Janus' transgressions, Queen Zeal acts quick to take her own Queen Pendant and enchant it as Janus did, tossing it into a rift of her own to birth a magically enhanced child that she will be able to control.

At the age of 16, clumsy, crybaby Schala prepares for another day at school. As she walks to school, a figure in the shadows glances at her unnoticed. A silver cat emerges from the shadows, the name "Alfador" shone on his golden collar. Schala sees this cat and nearly panics when it speaks. An iminent evil lurks in her school... in one of her very own classmates -- her academic rival, Harley.

Well, after two days on this forum with a lot of activity, I'd like to share with you all a bit about me because there are quite a few friendly faces here that I've met.

Well, my name is Lindsey, I'm 20 years old, almost 21, and am from California. My nickname is Schala and all my friends refer to me as that because I'm a lot like the character. Unfortunately though, getting my hair dyed blue is rather... awkward. *giggle* I've been into Schala for years because when I first encountered her in Chrono Trigger, I felt a bit strange myself. My boyfriend Leon (Serge is the nickname I gave him) says that it's not unusual, because sometimes people come across something that signals a faint memory of a former life. It's spooky, but I pretty much believe Schala signals that for me -- not that I was a magical princess or anything... at least, not on this planet ^_^;;

My passion is writing, gaming, and programming. I am a great storyteller I'm told and my old English professor from an old college class I took two years ago asked my permission if he could publish one of my works in his new textbook. I was honored that he considered this and agreed. In return, I was paid $50. It wasn't much but I was pretty flattered.

As for gaming, Chrono is obviously part of that. I am an avid player of World of Warcraft and have been for nearly three years straight now. I play guy toons though because... well... I started as a female toon on there but was spammed with cyber-sex requests. Besides, a good deal of players of female toons (probably 40 year old child predators) strip down their character's clothing and dance in their underwear everywhere, so I'd rather not be associated like that. I play the Moon Guard US realm, as well as a private realm I've set up myself to occasionally escape from "omgz lolz epic roflcopterz!!

I love to role-play and have about 80 characters in my mental archive. As for programming, I am infatuated with Free Pascal ( http://freepascal.org ) because it's almost as powerful, perhaps even better, than C++. It has a few experimental features at the moment that have been in C++ for years, like template metaprogramming and what not. Still, I've seen some quite impressive stuff programmed in it.

As well as the almost-in-development Chrono Flux, an MMORPG is in consideration. Code named "Chrono Revolution," the exciting new perspective of Chrono gaming is expected to give Chrono fans an epic new experience. As an avid MMO gamer myself, I know what Chrono fans and MMO gamers expect. The storyline is still in the early stages of writing, but what I can tell you is that it will act as the sequel to Chrono Flux. The main plot of the story, I can say at this point, is that after events that take place in Flux that I shall not spoil, reminants of the Time Devourer/Lavos attempt to make a last ditch effort at diminishing spacetime once and for all by travelling to various events in history to alter them for the worst.

The heroes in previous games will be unable to fulfill their roles to keep history intact without your help. Join along in the Chronoverse with other players and embark on an adventure that will build on your skills and fill your role to ally with others and prevail over old villains and new.

Beloved characters from the Chrono series can be expected to make a reappearance. Reexperience events from past games such as the infiltration of Magus' Castle, the Black Omen, and the Undersea Palace allied with up to NINETEEN other players. Each player will fill a vital role in progressing their party further into the dungeons. Expect revamped boss battles with different strategies for each, including Magus, Azala, Lynx, and even Lavos itself. With time altered, experience exciting new changes to old events!

This game will focus on player-versus-player and dungeon party content, with respect given to the casual solo gamer. Thought is still being given whether this should be 2D or 3D. The battle system will be an appropriately redone version of Chrono Cross' field effect system suitable for multiplayer. The main protagonist NPC of the game will be Schala, who has, since the events of Chrono Cross, ascented to claim the title Guardian of Time and will play a large role in the gameplay. She will be located in an area known as the Spacetime Nexus, which will be the central location of the game.

To explain Schala's role a bit, the reason why I think the role of Guardian of Time suited her was not only because of her limitless magic long forgotten from Zeal, but from the power she received during her ordeal in the Darkness Beyond Time. In the MMO story, and possibly Flux's story, the Time Devourer unintentionally transferred a good deal of its power to Schala, thus giving her the ability to manipulate the fabric of spacetime to a degree. You can possibly relate this to Harry Potter unintentionally receiving some of Voldemort's powers during his attempted murder as a baby, if you want. But I chose to make this so because I believe if she was partially fused with the Time Devourer, she undoubtedly HAD to gain something from it, though unintentionally from the Time Devourer's perspective.

I'm surprised I didn't post about this earlier. Well, months ago, perhaps a year, I began brainstorming ideas for an indirect sequel, based on my gathered opinion what happened next.

Before I explain, I am sure if I don't state this beforehand, I'll get criticized, saying Lavos was erased from history and what not. I'd like to say not necessarily because that would blow the whole historical timeline out of proportion, let alone cause a time paradox. If Lavos never existed, that would mean Zeal never existed, and since Lavos contributed to human evolution and expansive mind power, saying his existance was erased would throw humanity back to where it was in the stone age, with the exception of reptites being long gone. Without further adue, here's the plot:

Twenty years have passed since the destruction of the Time Devourer. No memory of the occurence remained. However, that doesn't mean it ever happened at all. The six dragons prior to the destruction of the Time Devourer were also destroyed...

Only six... out of seven.

This seventh dragon, the Dark Moon dragon, was unique in that she possessed the qualities and attributes of a princess lost in time, a young hotheaded thief, and a dragon itself. How had it come to be? An allegience to the Time Devourer was offered by the six dragons. Because of this, the Time Devourer blessed them with the seventh of their kin... in the form of a baby girl, forcibly birthed by the imprisoned princess herself under the control of the mighty parasite.

After the events leading to, and including the Time Devourer's destruction, a new empire emerged: the Acacia Empire, lead by Emperor Glenn and Empress Riddel, manifested from the dominance of General Viper's legacy and the titled dragoons themselves. Though twenty years it stood in glory and ever expansive, a shadow would descend upon it, this time, in the form of an enigmatic blue-haired woman.

The mysterious woman exalted herself with the empire in a matter of days. It was once that she was appointed chief advisor to Emperor Glenn himself that things took a turn for the worst. Almost immediately, the Emperor was driven mad by a dark influence. The once beloved Emperor Glenn was now a vessel of cruel inhumanity. Prisons were overcrowded as a result of new laws and executions skyrocketed 70%. Still, this new vicious Glenn persisted in growing ever more powerful. It was at this point that his dark advisor told him of a legendary parasite banished from the world by a boy who she referred to as... "mon amour."

A new threat looms and a life is in danger. Is history itself prepared to face extinction once again?
