General Discussion / Divorce. It sucks bigtime.
« on: January 08, 2013, 11:51:16 pm »
So friends, fellow Compendiumites, I am now going through a divorce.

It has been the single worst experience in my entire life.

Anyone else ever been divorced?

General Discussion / THE BIG DAY
« on: November 23, 2010, 07:54:02 am »
My wife has been in labor since 11pm, and it's funny because we're currently at the hospital that I work at.

I had to call in the on-call therapist to work so I could come be with her!

Updates as they come, and this will be the first place to get baby pictures!

Besides Facebook of course.

Welcome / Birthday / Seeya! Forum / Just an update.

I have currently achieved EVERYTHING I had set out to do two years ago.

I finished school, I'm now working full-time in Respiratory Therapy.

I got married to the most beautiful and wonderful woman in the entire world.

That beautiful woman is carrying our even more beautiful and wonderful child, due in a few weeks.

I have a great job with benefits, an excellent marriage built on caring and trust, and I can finally call myself a man. I am providing for my family. I have to tell you, it feels GREAT.

Well everyone, I have to bid you all adieu. As of tomorrow, I will be a married man, and the new house we're moving into doesn't have any internet access yet. We're going to have to wait for a while before we'll be able to get any because I have yet to get a job.

I'm going to miss the spirited discussions, and the extensive analysis that we've done in not only Chrono-related events but also in real-life experience and theories.

I hope your lives are rich and full! May your way through life always follow the spirit of the Springtime of Youth, as mine has!

General Discussion / Nintendo DS Homebrew flash carts
« on: August 23, 2009, 05:54:25 pm »
Yes I know I said "Homebrew," but we all know that's not what they're for. Does anyone else have one? I do, my current setup is:

Onyx Black Nintendo DS Lite
Black CycloDS, first version shipped with 1.5 firmware
EZ-Flash V Ram expansion/Rumble/GBA support card
2GB Micro SD card

What does your setup look like?

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / SAGE Review: Top SNES RPG's

Guess which one tops the list?

I also liked seeing Final fantasy IV so high on the list, as it's my second favorite game ever.

These time periods indicate that Christ was involved on the Earth in the Chronoverse, however there is no mention of him whatsoever in the entire game. I suppose the Cathedral in 600 AD was dedicated to him, but not really because they were worshipping Magus there. So what about it people? Should they have used different terms to mark their time periods?

Lavos, the Planet, and other Entities / Lavos's actual size
« on: November 21, 2008, 03:18:59 am »
Ok so I'm playing through CT today, and I noticed something peculiar.

First of all, For Lavos to be visible to the naked eye through a sunny sky in the middle of the day in 65,000,000 BC, one can assume he's pretty damned big.

When he falls, he hits the Tyrano Lair, whatever. However, if you notice, the sprite of him obliterating the Tyrano Lair is MUCH smaller than the sprite he uses when bursting from the ground.

So this is my question I guess, and it may sound stupid, but I believe it's a valid question. One can assume that Lavos grows when he's in the earth correct? Well if its sprite is that small when it falls, and it immediately falls into a pocket dimension, then how would it be able to grow? This assumes that its pocket dimension exists outside of the normal timeline. Wouldn't it be more feasible to assume that perhaps Schala actually forces Lavos into a PD after the Ocean Palace incident, rather than it creating one the instant it falls?

Welcome / Birthday / Seeya! Forum / Happy brithday to me!!

I turned 21 today.

I have been super sick all day because of the copious amount of alcohol I consumed last night.

But last night was AWESOME. I was one of those rare cases that waited until I was 21 to drink.

General Discussion / A Star Wars Thread. Just one question. Okay two.
« on: September 19, 2008, 05:17:16 am »
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it crazy that over 400 highly trained Imperial Storm Troopers equipped with full-range blasters, 40 scouts carrying smaller blaster pistols, 4 AT-ST walkers with copious amounts of weaponry, and an entire bunker full of high ranking Imperial military officials fell to:

Han Solo
Leia Organa
About 15 random soldiers
R2D2 and C-3PO
and 200 fuzzy midgets armed with rocks and sticks?

I mean, yeah the midgets had the home turf, but COME ON!!!

Not only that, but the Death Star II was being constructed during this movie. In order to speed up production, it's been said that some slaves and civilian contractors from Corellia and other planets in the Middle-Rim part of the Core were brought in to speed up production. You have to figure that at least 20,000 innocent people just trying to make a living were killed in the blast following the attack on the Death Star. You see people leaving in shuttles at the end, but if you read into it, most of those were captured. And all of the ones that were captured were filled with storm troopers and command crews, along with the ones that escaped to join the Empire Remnant outside of Coruscant. So NOT ONE of these civilian contractors made it off this thing. Doesn't that seem a little inconsiderate on the side of the Rebellion?

General Discussion / The +/- Thread
« on: July 16, 2008, 12:06:58 am »
So I used to be a part of a forum with a bunch of self-righteous jerks on it, but they did give me an interesting idea. This is a general +/- thread to give plusses and minuses to the things going on in your life so we can all talk about them and yadda yadda. You get the idea.

+ Ordered my EZ 3-in-1 rumble and ram cart for my DS
+ Getting my guitar stuff back from church on Thursday to write some music this weekend
+++++ THE DARK KNIGHT FRIDAY
---- Infected ingrown hair on face.

So, I've read this comic for about 2 years. I Love CAD. I do. Very much. When it's poking fun at a game and making lighthearted Warhammer jokes about collectibles.

HOWEVER, SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER The new storyline is very very disappointing to me. If you watch Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw's episode of Zero Punctuation about Webcomics, then you'll basically be presented with a series of valid points on the "Not liking the new storyline or gaming webcomics that rip off PA either" side of the fence.

Before I watched this episode, I tried to agree with Tim Buckley that this would be an interesting story, but now, I'm really tired of it. Especially today. I think Ethan's head is going to end up brain soup all over his TV and Xbox/friend Zeke at the hands of a 12-gauge triggered by a well placed joystick. Come to think of it, that seems to be where it's going.

Or they do the Click thing and make it all a dream.

Opinions?

And here's the link to that ZP video. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/108-Webcomics

General Discussion / What are you listening to?
« on: June 23, 2008, 01:29:07 am »
I've been listening to this band called This Will Destroy You a lot lately. They're a Post-Rock band, and they are really chill and good.

I've also been listening to both of Veil of Maya's albums, "The Common Man's Collapse" and "All Things Set Aside."
