I just installed SuSe 10.0 Eval on my machine. During the install, everything worked fine, except that it failed to connect to suse.de and download updates. Probaby some trouble with the fact that my mobo has 2 NICs, but that's just speculation.
In any event, everything seemed to work fine. When I go to boot into XWindows (KDE), the screen goes black. I know something is going on, because it still plays a start up sound. Resolution was autoset during install, and my video card is a 9600XT. Any idea what the root problem may be, and how I can solve it? Thanks.

The good news is, I just got a job. I start tomorrow. Unfortunately, it'll be very time consuming, so I won't be able to check-up on the Compendium much. I'll try to visit when I can, but for the next month or so (current estamite) it'll be pretty sparse.

SquareSoft is dead to me.
Nobuo Uematsu was the last glimmer of hope that company had, and now he's leaving it. Mind you, I'll still probably play their future games, it's just that now all the people who created the classics that I grew up with are gone.
