Will do Ramsus!  :D

EDIT: The user FFfangirl gave me the okay to use the two images she uploaded. I will make sure to give her credit for the help. There is another good image I might want to use, but a different user uploaded it - so we'll see how things go.

After reviewing your work, I'm going to give my go-ahead on the cleanup project for the pages. Good luck.

Also, you should ask permission from the contributor to the other website before using those images. We've actually invested a lot of time in obtaining and scanning resources ourselves, especially Zeality, or seeking contributors. Granted, it was mostly out of an old school respect between fan site authors, but we also believe it's the right thing to do, regardless of fair use or copyright law. The only exceptions have been with materials we've archived due to the original sites being lost or intentionally removed from the community.

Rockin'!

I will start with the Articles section and move on from there.

In regards to the contributor, I don't see a contact/e-mail link anywhere for the user. I think I may have to sign up for that wiki to gain access to the individuals contact information.

Those tables are auto-generated, just like on wikipedia. They're the Table of Contents for each page based on the sections delineated in the Wiki markup.

As far as to which link you use, pick one or make a new thread and leave a note in that page's Talk page explaining that it's been changed.

Thanks Ramsus. I am learning as I go, and I want to be careful with exactly what I edit. This is all new territory, but everything looks to be good so far.

I think we should go with Vehek's suggestion with the second link.
If not, we can definitely discuss here or somewhere else.

I do have a couple additional questions...

Was the format and changes I did acceptable?
Or rather, is this what everyone would want to see in other pages?

If so, I can make these "clean-up" edits on every page.
I just want the go-ahead before I start going editing in other areas.

Lastly, I have an image for the FFXIII CT reference, but there is a better quality image on the official FF Wikia page for the Fiendlord's Keep - can I just grab this image and post it here or should I ask permission from the contributor over there? Fair Use applies so we can't get into any trouble.

There's a login link for the wiki in the upper right corner of every Encyclopedia page. You now have access, so go ahead and start fixing things. You can make notes of what you've done for each page on the page's Discussion/Talk page (linked at the bottom above the footer of each Encyclopedia page).

The Discussion links are old phpBB links. You'll have to track down the relevant SMF forum threads in order to fix them.

I am able to edit, however, I cannot directly edit tables with "hide/show" content. I was able to take out the duplicate table in the CC Resolutions, but I have no control over the placement of said table. I was going to link the "special thanks" section at the end with the ToC.

EDIT: I also cannot find the original thread if anyone ever wanted to "discuss" this on the forum.

Maybe we could use the third link?

^That ugly thing still exists? Ugh. I will never understand the desire some have to fill this site with copy after copy of that old pixellated image that was never funny to begin with and has nothing to do with the site or the topic. I seriously hate that thing and lose a little more respect for whoever posts it every time I see it.  </rant>

haha I just found it recently after searching some older threads
lol no worries Bekkler

@Ramsus:
I found a couple things of interest in the Articles section...

I found numerous articles to have some discrepancies; the Chrono Cross Resolutions and Salt for the Dead Sea (for example) have duplicated tables and broken links at the very bottom of the article(s) to discuss the topic on the forum. When you click on them, I am directed to a page with "File Not Found" at the upper left-hand corner. Additionally, there are several grammatical errors.

Also, in the Game Index section, there was just something minor on the front page. At the very bottom, the reference to the Fiendlord in Final Fantasy XIII is not a theme park, but rather an attraction/ride in the theme park Nautilus.

Something else I found, which may be intentional, are deleted pages.
Examples here as red text > http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Chrono_Trigger.html

I would be happy to fix these if you'd like.
I'll also let you know if I find anything else that

Scour the site for broken links and site content, and report back here if you find something. You can also volunteer to join the Wiki Editors group if you're bold enough to try your hand at maintaining the Encyclopedia.

ha I actually used to be apart of this long ago.

I can definitely check things out.

The dream will never die!

Is there anything us Compendiumites can do to help/assist?

Or is it just a matter of sitting back and riding the wind as Johnny drives to the next Lab

Thanks for keeping the dream alive Ramsus!

Chrono Break news will look great with these upgrades :)

Other Topics and the Prerelease / Re: Extrapolations for Chrono Break
« on: January 09, 2014, 03:07:53 am »
If time breaks anyone can time travel and without telepods, amulets, time eggs and Lavos\Entity powers. Or other eras come to them. For example: 65mln bc lava in 1000 ad year and 12k bc snow in 600 ad year
Then what if Break takes place in  "fused" world? One where time exists on a single point and everything on the timeline happens at once?

So different pieces of each timeline find there way to one or many separate eras, or they all pop up in one single timeline altogether... hmm... I like the idea, and it kind of reminds me of FFXIII-2's time travel plot in a way. The only difference is that XIII-2 dealt with paradoxes of a locale, which were caused by the events of another time period.

ahh yes! My mistake Vehek.

Sorry about the confusion.

Yes, that's it - I actually have a couple of these done, and if we know what's of the most importance (maybe create a new section or asterisk the ones that should get done before the others), that would be so much more helpful. I would have the Compendium vote for what should be done next, but given the declining participation, I would let those like Z and Faust give direction.

I'm at the point where I'm ready to consider this. It is a shame that MRT still exists. There are complete goldmines of information on the development of the games and probably some amazing plot details in those Japanese interviews, and yet, we're powerless to read or decipher them. Progress is zero.

Perhaps we should designate material by highest priority.

I would be happy to tackle these interviews, but I don't know which ones you are referring to. MRT still has CuteLucca artwork, placing CC lines in the script accurately, adding CC model images in our Encyclopedia, and several other things. Granted all of this is important, but a new structure should be created. This would help let everyone know what's first and foremost Priority 1

This guy has been doing some interesting things. He hasn't updated since June so I'm not really expecting much from this.

That is amazing work!

There is Streets of Rage Remake game. Fan game. Creators (Bomber Games) also have a C&D letter from Sega. But game was 100% complete at the moment though.

There are times when I can understand C&Ds are necessary, and there are times when I do not understand...

Fan games (not-for-profit) have the potential to energize an old relic, and at the same, act as free advertising for any company.

Your post reminds me of the CE chaos back in 2009 - this site still holds the record for most users online that day because of the event.

I miss these... but it's so good to see you still at work with them!

Seems like a lifetime ago when I interviewed you over AIM :D

My favorite bit has still got to be the credits to CTU 12 with the entire cast laughing as the world burns lol

There were rumors (heh) about a new Chrono game made on the Luminous Engine...

Well, it's over a year old now, but it blew up on most gaming and blog sites.
