Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / A FATE worse than Lavos' eternal nightmare???
« on: August 05, 2013, 03:27:49 am »
Few days ago Capcom ''blessed'' gamers with iOS/browser Breath of Fire game .
Recently, Shit-EniXXX announced mobile Star Ocean card game.
Now, I'm seriosly concerned that criminals from SE will do something similar to Chrono series....
I hate to admit it, but Chrono is almost ideal for cheap-to-develop, easy-money mobile game.50+ playable characters (and lots of atractive females ), villains, NPCs, great art from Yuuki and Toriyama, timeless music.
They could throw all that in mixer with few ''new'' additions and create some shallow tittle without real story/characters/gameplay.
But, if brings money, why would SE care....?

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Chrono Cross sales in Japan
« on: April 24, 2012, 12:42:37 pm »
Probably pointless and too late to discuss about this now, but can someone offer some explanation why Chrono Cross didn't perform better in Japan?
Maybe I am totally wrong, but 850000 copies in Japan doesn't look really good to me considering:
a) legacy of Chrono Trigger
b) quality of Chrono Cross
c) reputation of late Square at that time
d) game was released in November.Aren't that best time to sell big games?
e) number of PS owners at that time in Japan.I don't have exact numbers, but surely much bigger than PS3 userbase now, and Tales of Xillia sold almost 750000 copies on PS3 in Japan...
So, what went wrong !?
