General Discussion / Re: 3rd Gen Consoles
« on: September 23, 2009, 05:01:57 pm »
Just for the sake of clarification, as my silly mind was confused at first; the PS3, XBox 360, and Wii are from the seventh generation of video game consoles. The third was the 8-bit era: NES, Atari 7800, SEGA Master System, etc.

I don't have a traditional 7th Gen console, but I do have a Nintendo DS. Is that appropriate for this thread?
Oh? I'm sorry, I've know this gen as the third one for a long while, but I guess you do hold the truth on your statement, after researching a little more. On all the marketing studies I've read, they were worked as third generation, I guess that would be the popular and yet wrong way of knowing them.  :picardno

I don't have a traditional 7th Gen console, but I do have a Nintendo DS. Is that appropriate for this thread?
Handhelds (DS and PSP) are welcome, they are part of this gen.

Hello! I love the Ayla dance in your avatar.

You know, I only noticed you in the last couple of weeks, and now you're already the Guru of Life. Way to go! What did you to do make Guru?

I'm pretty sure she did something with the doujinshi that she got from that cute lucca auction.

Welcome! I didn't know you were a girl. Yaay more girls. We're up to 5 now (I think). I hope you stick around!
What auctions? Doujinshis? o.o Nah, I've worked a lot on the series music... the Chrono Trigger DS Version OST, posted the scans for the Chrono Cross one, also the new Yasunori Mitsuda album where RADICAL DREAMERS ~Nusumenai Houseki~ appears, and I'm working on the Kanji/Romaji/English Translations of the Chrono Cross OST.

Thank you all for the welcome, and I do pretend to stick around, I've liked the community a lot  :D

@Lord J: YES! That dancing Ayla is one of the most amazing sprites ever <3

Welcome Trebuchet! Enjoy your way on the forums  :D

Personally, I don't mind the oversized emoticons, it's the same as if someone posts a meme using the IMG tag. I would have a problem if those huge icons were on the emoticons shortcuts when you post, thought, but they aren't.

I know, I'm way late, but I just discovered this forum existed D: I'm a little distracted I guess.
Well, better than never.

I'm partially new to the site, I've been here for almost a couple of weeks. If you know radicalblues, that's why I'm here, he's my boyfriend xD
Name's Trini, I'm 21 (22 in 2 weeks x[ ) and I'm living in Panama ATM but I won't last long here, gotta get a master and some degrees on other countries and the journey starts soon.

Me being a fan of the Chrono series started back in 2001 when I played Chrono Cross, and I got to play Chrono Trigger after it because of Blues, we played it together <3 I still gotta play Radical Dreamers, but I plan to do it soon :3 I'm after the DS Version of CT as well, but Blues is the one in charge of buying the DS and the game to play it, lol.

Alright, I guess that's it! Nice to meet you everyone  :D

General Discussion / New Gen Consoles
« on: September 22, 2009, 11:12:12 pm »
Alright, assuming most of us have stayed gamers after playing Chrono Trigger/Cross, I'm gonna make this thread. I want to highlight that I don't really want to create a versus thread, so if you don't like what other users say about your favourite console, just ignore it.

  • Do you own a new gen console? Which one(s), and why?
Yes, handhelds are welcome.
  • What games do you own?
  • Drop your PSN ID / Gamer Tag / Friend Code.

I'll answer first:

Do you own a new gen console? Which one(s), and why?
Yes. PlayStation 3, 80GB.

Actually, my first 3rd gen console was a Nintendo Wii, but after 5 months of owning it and playing all the games that interested me, I got awfully bored. There were no new games that interested me coming up, and the existing ones bored me awfully, so I decided to sell it and get what I originally intended to buy, but I couldn't afford back at that time, the first models of PS3 costed $700 here (hello Latin American crappy markets), and they only sold the MGS4 bundle. I got the Wii because my mom won a $250 club at a store, and she gave it to me, so my Wii costed me $50... and add an extra $75 to that, since I had to buy SSB Brawl separately. I borrowed all the other games I played, from Mario Galaxy to Trauma Centers and No More Heroes.
I've owned my PS3 for 10 months now, and I have never get bored of it, games I like keep popping up, and I've loved most of the existent ones. But why I decided to buy a PS3 instead of a 360? Well, I never liked the first Xbox to begin with, the controllers, the exclusives... except for 360's Mass Effect, but I could and did play that one on my PC. Sony's been with me all way long since the PlayStation was out, and I liked their exclusives better, also, I do love watching Blu-Ray movies, and it was a life savior when my desktop screwed up.
Oh, I love Japanese stuff, especially music, and Japan and America's Blu-Ray zone are the same <3 I can play Japanese games with no problem at all, and watch their blu-rays as well.

What games do you own?
DBZ Burst Limit
Soul Calibur IV
Rock Band 2
Fallout 3
KillZone 2
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger
Fight Night Round 3
Assassin's Creed
Fat Princess
Crystal Defenders
Marvel VS Capcom 2
Katamari Forever (haven't arrived yet)

Alright guys, the .rar with the links is finally back to the first post. Remember, the password is the answer to the bolded question, and you must input it using lower case.

I find it really weird myself, and I really think it is not paraphernalia. But, I want a video with this song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnyepCXz2V8
at least from 0:59 to 2:24 featuring Serge and Kid dancing mambo or Patrick Swayze's dirty dancing complete with sharp-dress ......
OH FUCK what the heck am I dreaming? Although it will be certainly epic.  :franky

Thanks for the video btw, it's pretty kickass <3

I'll go ahead and add the romaji names to all the Chrono Trigger song pages in the encyclopedia, and host the word document as a download on the Music (Chrono Trigger) page.
Sweet! Thanks.

Btw, you forgot to add the last syllable to this one:
"Original Japanese: やすらぎの日々 / Yasuragi no Hi"

It would be Yasuragi no Hibi.

Also, I noticed you corrected some of the English titles with mine, thank you, but I want to highlight this one on particular:
87. Time To Rest -After the Battle
It's funny, because the whole "after the battle" was completely invented, in the Japanese title says やすらぎ ~想いを超えて~, Yasuragi ~Omoi o Koete~. Yasuragi is peace/tranquility, omoi is commonly translated into feelings, and koete is from the verb koeru, which is to cross over,  to exceed and such. "Battle" or fight, would be tatakai, but I can't really see how that can fit in the context. I'll wait until someone of the retranslation teams takes a peek on my word doc, to see if I need to correct something, but I wanted to point out that thing in special.

Returning to my personal fight with track 22, I believe I won. As I said on VGMdb, the "suspicious position" on 3:04 is non-existent. I downloaded the program you mentioned before, Audacity, and didn't find anything wrong with it. So.. I'm uploading DISC 3 now, and I would have to rerip the DVD in order to make an audio rip, but I think next time I purchase something at Yahoo Auctions Japan, I'm gonna get the bonus CD with those 2 tracks that came with the DS version of the game as a bonus present. Talking about that... does anyone knows which one is more rare, the one with the black or white cover?

As soon as the upload finishes, I'll be editing and updating the first post, sorry everyone for having you waiting.

PS: ZeaLitY, thank you for last night's PM, please be sure to thank ghoul for me, but neither of those things worked >_< I still believe it has to be some kind of mastery error, or at least my copy is screwed up.

General Discussion / Re: So just thought on Mitsuda's future works
« on: September 21, 2009, 03:14:03 pm »
Man, I really need to catch up on my Mitsuda. He's actually been producing at a pretty good clip according to his wiki article. RP, have you heard his collaboration with Miki Higashino on Tsukiyo ni Saraba (2005) at all? Anyone even know what kind of game it is? Sounds like it might be fantastic anyway, I think I'll track that one down first.

But still -- if Mitsuda isn't producing a new album every fifteen days, he's still not doing enough. :kz
Oh? I haven't heard of that at all, but I just Googled it, seems pretty nice, I love action games and shooters, in English it's called "10,000 Bullets", but the damn thing wasn't released on America, just Japan and Europe, and I believe Europe's PS2 region is different from ours... dang it! And I don't have a hacked PS2 or anything  :| Oh well, I'll try to lurk around and see if I can grab the OST, if I do, I'll surely let you know.

Thanks Faust.  :kamina

I originally intended to put a .doc file as well, but the tables were horribly deformed. Yes, I tried fixing them... it ended up worse D: I prefer doing that stuff on Illustrator, but not everybody would be able to edit and copy-paste it and all that.

Alrighty, off to bed, that track 22 and I have a date tomorrow morning.
