Polling / 05/09/17 - Have you played Radical Dreamers? Thoughts?
« on: September 10, 2005, 07:26:29 pm »
I have. It was for an hour or so and i forgot to save. It seemed alright. But i wouldent have thought it had anything to do with CT had it not have been for magus' sprite (well that and prior out of game knowledge) I liked the fact that serge spoke.

I always was under the impression that the kid in the RD dimension is the same as in CC thats why she appears to know serge. But thats been proven false.

The game was ok from what i saw not very fun i thought.

Site Updates / To the Temporal Flux team & RPGOne - Thank You!!
« on: September 07, 2005, 10:20:42 pm »
I love the fact that people have the dedication and enourmous love of the Chrono Series to do something like this. But it dosent NEED a retranslation.

RpgONE's retranslation of Final Fantasy 6 was NOT as good as the US localization. Now for a goal to retranslate a game in which you calaim that something was missing thats a death knel. It accomphlished the exact opposite of its intended goal; making the game more confusing instead of vice versa.

But yeah i think Dedication like this should be covered by this site but I wouldent jump into bed with RPGone and decare this the "bestest thing evar!!!!!111111111 yowza"  untill you actulary compare the two Versions. Try it with ff6 you'll see what i mean.

At the end he says "i will make it so!" and then hes like youve never seen star trek the next generation when the guy dosent get the reference. "your wife dosent it let you watch it? "i dont have a wife" you girlfriend then?" "i dont thve a girlfriend i live alone."

"So you dont have have a wife or a girlfriend and you live alone and youve NEVER seen star trek?

.........Gooood lord"

Submissions / Chrono Legend demo 1 released!!!
« on: September 01, 2005, 01:56:24 am »
well for rm2k you would download the program and the patch for english. thne you would dl the game unzip it to a folder and if it dosent have a lil executable copy the exeucuteable in the sample games (lil guy holding a sword)

But most of the rpgmaker games are demos which show promise and get ya hyped to play the game but....never come out. Most people dont have or dont wanna put the time in to complete thier game. Hopefully this chrono legend game will finish. I'll play it IF it manages to get completed.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Re: Coolest Chrono Cross Dungeon!
« on: August 31, 2005, 08:51:55 am »
the last part of the tower of gheddon. Finally after hours of game play time we get a mention of crono and the company.

Lucca's Orphanage as well because of the pure nostalga factor. However when i played it the first time i was unbeliveably pissed that square decided that someone could actulary kidnap (and most likely Kill) "Lucca the Great!"(dont even get me started on the FFC ending where Crono IS slain how in the name of the universe could something like THAT happen!?!?) The drawings of the ct crew (cept ayla i belive??) was one of the high points of the game for me.

Heh rpgone's retranslations suck. ff6 is the worst of them all. UGH. but thats neither here nor there.

Well I already played the demo its preety decent. After im done my guy on star ocean 1 and CC im going to play CT over and get all the engings Yet again. I have the OST and the other CT albums and listen to them regularly so meh. But i will mess around with the prerelease too.

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Difficulty Levels
« on: August 27, 2005, 01:06:58 pm »
I hated Cross for years. In fact after i played it for the first time and found out that CC basically nullifies Crono's quest i wanted to throw my copy against the wall. But i didnt, I didnt touch the game for since i bought it some 5 6 years ago?  But i've come to the realization that despite the fact that it feels like square pissed in your mouth and slapped ya in the facewith the plot; the game itself isnt all that bad.  Certainly the soundtrack is Outstanding.

I just started playing it for second time. Just a quick playthru none of this trying to find every charector crap since there is like 2-3 good charectors to have in the game,Not to mention that theres no point in collecting them all.  Then im going to play Trigger. I cant wait to play that again for the 50+ time.

As for the diffucltly levels I dont know.  There were a couple pooints in each game where i had some trouble. But im going to have to say for me CRoss was more diffucult, BUT only because i was more interested in where the fuck crono was then i was Fighting battles. Also the Combat isnt all that fun despite the fact that the system in part is ripped from Xenogears.

General Discussion / I need a bit of advice
« on: July 27, 2005, 11:40:40 pm »
Hmmm there are many a rpg's on the psx.

Nothing against Legend of Dragoon i do own it; but that should be considered lower tier heres some non square titles for you

Star Ocean 2
Wild Arms 1 (2 is so so)
Suikoden 1
Suikoden 2 (they are tied in my opinion for 3rd best of all time so these should be a must play good luck finding a coipy for cheap though)
Lunar Silver Star Story
Lunar Eternla Blue Complete -both excellant games with cool sprite graphics and one hell of a localization
Arc the LAd Collection (excellent localizaion and wicked cool storyline will take you a while includes 4 games)

All of these are upper Ecehelon Titles for any system. However with the possibler exception of Star ocean and wild arms finding these titles will be diffucult and Expensive if you resport to ebay. Evey single one is worth its whieght in...... whatever monitary system you care to use.
