Thanks! It's coming along slowly but surely.
I only have time to work on it a little bit each week. >_<

More WIP texture changes and color updates.

Keep the checkered flag seats, add fuzzy dice.

Seriously thought, that's looking awesome!

lol yeah seriously, Thanks I am doing my best to keep it true to how it looked in the game.
There is a few major flaws in the texture right now I am addressing but I am not unsatisfied with it so far. ^_^

Here is a very early WIP Shot of the ship with the start of the texture.

It still needs a ton of work I would say this texture is about 10% done.

If it does have some sorta something that comes out when it lands I have no clue where to put it on the design lol.

Here are the screens that I has mentioned before.

Like the game Epoch the seats are a separate element that comes out the bottom and then locks in place.
No seat belts! Who would you crash into on a voyage through time?

The wireframe:
Simply because I think they look cool.

The model has been mapped and is ready to be textured.
I use this Square default texture pattern to make sure things will flow right.

It's awesome without the texture, though something about it kind of reminds me of clay. Very nicely done, Kage! For some reason, I think the seats should be leather. That way you can cruise through time in luxury.

lol then I will have to also include a Lexus hood ornament as well. Because you have to let everyone know you have the deluxe package lol.

Working in 3d is very much like working in clay. At the same time you have to break the clay down into triangles and squares. I will post a wire frame later so you can see what I mean.

It depends on how I texture it, should I go for making the texture look as close as possible to how it looked in the game? Or update it a bit so it looks less cartoonie?

Wowsers, it's simply amazing! I have Blender but don't know the first thing about it and I dunno how to use it... wish there was a straight out tutorial for the basics. ("How to make a square.", etc.) ~~ Looks awesome!!

I use maya, it actually comes with some decent tutorials and there is tons of great documentation all over the internet. I highly recommend learning that or 3ds max if you want to get into 3d modeling.

Its a ton of fun.

Based on this design though, how does this thing land?

Looks good!  You should texture it!

That is the next planned step. I have done nothing but work on the model since I got off work yesterday so I am going to take a break on starting the image mapping until tomorrow.

Its funny, I love the modeling step and the texturing step. But that UV mapping step can be a pain and extremely time consuming. But once its done the texturing fun can begin.

Hot!

Thanks, It's been over a year since I did anything in 3D so I had a sudden desire to model something fun and I just had got to the point in the CT on the DS where you get the Epoch and was like, "I wonder what it would look like in 3d.?"

Below are some images of my Epoch model in the state of work in progress. I am nearly finished with the modeling phase and will be moving onto texturing soon.
Currently the model is 6488 triangles and would be considered a low polygon mesh.
I have used for reference two images the design image from the preregister page on compendium and the flying wallpaper image that is pretty much the only other Toriyama design sketch I can find.

This is just a for fun thing for me I am not associated with any game remakes or fan games or any real game companies. This is simply Fan Art.
I had mentioned in my welcome thread that I would be posting my fan art here so consider this the first of many.
I will also be posting my textured images here as I get the time to map the model.

I forgot to post the side view.

If this is the wrong forum for this kinda topic please let me know.

Thanks!

This heartwarming tale of friendship is a great example.

Two friends awake in the morning on a camping trip to find a bear going through their stuff.
When they emerge from their tent the bear gets extremely angry and the two run for it.
After some distance is gained one of them stops and starts putting on his shoes.
The friend who did not grab their own shoes points out that they do not have time to stop like this.

The other turns to look up at the friend and says, sorry I don't have to outrun the bear, just you.

Even if they both lived they are probably no longer friends.

Apparently Mother is a hard, HARD game. I've played the other two, and my favorite is Mother 3, the fan translation is superb.

Earthbound on snes was not easy at all especially to start.

The mother games are all amazing I tried to get through the original and made did I completely fail. I recently got a hold of the mother 3 fan translation I just have yet to have the time to start it up and give it a try.
