The movie wasn't that crappy...probably the best video game to movie adaption out there.  And MKIII was OK too.  I have fond memories of all three original games, especially the first one and getting that on Christmas...ooo yea.  Those were the days...

Also, F4 is gay.  And when comparing movies, Mortal Kombat > Both F4 live action movies combined.

Liu Kang never throws a fireball=Lame.

And there are a few video game to movies that are fine...though they're are anime.

Did they make a movie about teh awesome Fantastic Four I mentioned? No, they did not. Combine the suck-factor of all of the MK movies & the television series and you're far below the crapfest that even the Ghost Rider movie was.

He does so, as a matter of fact.  It is how he deals the final blow to Shang Tsung.  Granted it isn't a fireball per se, but when Kang's hands come into contact with Mr. Tsung's chest, there is a fireball-esque effect that blows him away, down to the spike pit below.

Meh, It came out way back in '95 or there abouts...it was good enough for the day.  You are just spoiled with all of the new snazzy special effects of today.

I saw it back then & knew it for the cheap cop-out that it was. If they couldn't do it right, they shouldn't have done it at all. Was it even rated R? No, of course not, a video game movie has to be targeted at kids, right? Retarded. It was a series made popular by excessive amounts of violence & blood. The movie should have reflected that.

At least you could laugh at MK. I mean, Goro was hysterical. His entrance when he fights Art was just gold. You have all of that hard rock music going and he's just standing there screaming his ass off. It easily lasts for a good thirty-forty seconds. The same goes for Aussie Kano. "Good boy. She's here. Right on time." I was laughing so hard when I watched it as a kid, lemme tells ya.

My life has been plagued by crappy movies. Roger Corman's Fantastic Four, anyone?

Only good video game movie I've ever seen was Pokemon(first one)and it wasn't live action.
Although you could easily come up with a number of ways to pull it off...
Me and my friends came up with a great idea to pull a Batman on it(going from Batman & Robin to Batman Begins, kiddie to dark).

Also, Mortal Kombat seemed a lot like Power Rangers the way it was done, except they actually looked like they could tear you apart. Sadly, they only tore people apart metaphorically, not literally.

I thought Batman Forever (despite the fact that I never saw it) was kinda lame. Carrey as the Riddler was seriously fucked up.

Honestly...

You've never even seen it, how the hell can you say its lame?

Batman Forever wasn't too bad, really.  batman and robin on the other hand...well let's just say I'm not going to even capitalize that title.

The Mortal Kombat movie didn't need blood and guts, the games did that just fine and quite frankly I am sick of that shit anyway.  It was a bit like Power Rangers though but a few notches down on the corny scale.

Meh, B&R was good, but not as good as I'd like.

Batman Begins/The Dark Knight... Holy shit. Those were worth swallowing my pride and going to the theater.
