I read in today's newspaper that some haze from the fires is over the Bay Area. But it's not enough to really harm anyone.

Meh, living in the Bay Area is punishment enough; adding very many natural disasters on top of it would just be sadistic of any divine being.

My brother lives about ten miles from the fires. Close enough that his college closed down for the day.
