Western Heights Band Contest
« on: April 13, 2007, 07:38:30 am »
I attend Western Heights High School in the southwest area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, which of course, is in the United States.

Now, on Wednesday, April 11 we had a band contest.

For our performance of the music we rehearsed, we got a 3  ( 1 being the best, and a 5 being the worst. )

And for our Sight Reading portion, we recieved a 1, and a very nice plaque to go with it.

I would like to share the recording of our performance.

I would be 3rd chair Cornet part in Chorale and Alleluia, and 2nd chair Trumpet in March Grandioso, which both parts happen to have a number of Solis, and one solo.

"Chorale and Alleluia"

"March Grandioso"

Woo so am I! Mostly 3rd
Nah, it's a Simpsons joke:
Quote
Lisa:   I hate to be a killjoy, but do you really think we can win
playing "Stars and Stripes Forever?"  It's so beginner
band, and we're advanced beginner band.
Ralph:   [stops drawing a picture on his drum]  This is band?
Largo:   Very well, Lisa, what rousing Sousa march would you have
   us play?
Lisa:   Well, I thought for once we could play a song that wasn't
   written by Sousa.
Largo:   You mean something ... just arranged by Sousa?
