Ayla sort of looks like Witchblade. Cool sketch. Thanks for the scan!

Yeah, Crono, Lucca & Marle's ages do seem a bit of a bigger difference than in the final...

What on earth...? I wonder who drew these?

I doubt it is, but it reminds me of some early Masamune Shirow sketches.

"Robo" some kind of cyborg monster?? "Glenn" wearing a Reptite skull?? Does the old dude (a Guru I assume) raise more questions as to who could have been the 8th character again??...and this is only one page!

I was also wondering if Kato might have drawn them. Kato did some of the artwork for the NES Ninja Gaiden series under the name "Runmal," and Ayla immediately reminded me of Irene Lew. The facial resemblance was just striking...

However, that's just my best guess.

I'm processing a slew of scanned pages dealing with the Darkness Beyond Time and containing interviews with what I hope are Masato Kato and definitely Yasunori Mitsuda. I don't want to just flood the Internets with scanned images from a copyrighted book, so I'm going to forward them to ZeaLitY and he can figure out the next course of action.

I can not, not find Benny Matsuyama's story anywhere. I'm starting to doubt it's even in here, and if it is in, it's extremely short. The Dream Devourer has been hilariously fuzzed out as if it were pr0n, so I'm also starting to doubt that we'll get much info on that front either.

Sadly, only four pieces of concept art. I imagine ZeaLitY will post them in a news update or something once I forward those to him.

I think you're right with Kato being the artist. I compared it to some sketches I found around the net and it seems to bear a resemblance.

Yeah, I was wondering if there was any resemblance to that pic he did of Kid in 1996, but I thought the Irene Lew look for Ayla might have actually conflicted with it, so I'm not sure...

I'm mulling over whether to send a certain page to ZeaLitY, but I can't remember -- was this ever in any version of the game? I think I only crashed the Epoch into Lavos once, so my memory of that event sequence is hazy.

I saw it once in the Snes version, but that is because I saw a video on Youtube, but it's definetly there if that's the case.
