Greetings. My name is Dane Petersen, and I've been a fan of this series for several years now. After hearing good things about Trigger over the internet, I decided one day to rent a copy of FF Chronicles from a local video store on my way home from an art class. Needless to say, I all but instantly fell in love with the game. The innovate battle system, grand-sweeping story, and rich soundtrack all contributed to my enjoyment of the game,
A few years later during middle school, I met Kebrel. At first we were only casual acquaintances, but after learning that he was a huge fan of the game, we became friends. The discussions we had at the time led to me getting my own copy of Chronicles, as well as one for another of my friends. Kebrel would also lend me his copy of Cross from time to time, which, despite it's differences from Trigger, I found to be quite enjoyable.
Later on during my first two years of high school, I began experimenting with ideas, stories, and characters for my own video games. It was during this time that I drew much of my inspiration from Chrono series. For one thing, I had recently managed to beat Trigger (I was never good at finishing games as a kid.) and I found myself fascinated by the game's many underlying themes. Due to the events that were happening in my life at the time, I was extremely partial to the Zeal era, especially it's music. Not a day went by when most of my free time at school was spent listening to OverClocked remixes of Corridor of Time, Schala's Theme, and Singing Mountain.
Several years passed, and with each the prospect of the series continuation grew fainter and fainter. Personally, I was somewhat hoping that the Xenosaga team (Which, from what I had heard, consisted of several people behind the development of Xenogears, and by extension, the Chrono series.) to make a "spiritual successor" to the series, much like Xenosaga is to Xenogears. But that was just a fantasy.
I figured that if Square had any intentions of doing anything with the franchise, it would be now or never. And as FATE would have it, it was now. When I heard about the DS remake, I knew immediately what I would be saving my money for. Even now, after owning the game for several years prior, and despite being able to beat the game in less than a week, I'm still able to have just as much fun playing Chrono DS as I did that day sometime back in 6th grade.
There's a lot more I'd like to say, but I'm right in the middle of studying (almost reverse-ironically enough) for my history exams. To make a long story short, I am here and you are here and we are all together. Koo-koo-kachoo.
