It's interesting that the MM (Black Omen) is located at the center of the CT world map and El Nido would be located somewhere at the Southwest. We know that Lavos crashed at the center of the world map, and since he crashed in a Northeast-Southwest direction, the Frozen Flame which broke off his shell would indeed fall somewhere at the Southwest of the crash site (Tyran's Lair/Black Omen etc.)... in El Nido.

I don't think either of those quotes clearly defines where El Nido is. I mean, basically, they could just be stating where those places are in corresponding to the world in general. Neither quote says "the countries to the north" or "the major power in the east". Thus, I don't think there's enough to clearly state where El Nido is on the CT world.

That doesn't give you any details about El Nido's location.  It just says Porre is the power OF the east.  El Nido off that quote alone could be ANYWHERE on the map.   When you refer to a country as being "one of the western powers", that doesn't tell you anything about where you are, it jsut tells you that that country is a power of the west.

Unlike the first quote, they probably are talking in reference to their current location.  But, it only implies "more north".  The location of El Nido could be on the northern hemisphere itself, and the countries they're refering to just happen to be MORE north.

It is in the East, in the East of El Nido that is.

The game map, yes. But how do we know this is how all of the maps in Chrono World are represented? Plus, on most planets, since there is no specific east or west pole or anything, everything can be considered east or west depending on how you see the world divided from the Prime Meridian or w/e.

Since the quote just says "northern" it could mean a variety of things. I take it as meaning the northernmost countries in the world...which would be what? Guardia & Truce and Choras? The Mystic Village? w/e

I beileve El Nido is somewhere between the Zenan continent and the place where the Mystics are (perhaps a little south).

I always assumed it to be close(ish) to Porre, considering it doesn't seem that there is much trouble travelling back and forth from the two locations.
