Yeah, how refreshing for a politician to have a novel view instead of toeing the party line.

How unrefreshing that Anthony Wiener was pressured to step down, though. Another reminder of the inanity of American politics and the Puritanical attitude towards sex in this country, in no small part shaped by the US's abnormal religiosity.

Hahaha, I totally came in here expecting a discussion on Anthony Weiner, even though you specify "Senator" in the topic title (complete brain fart on my part). I didn't even know about this, so thanks for bringing up something refreshing in US politics Manly Man!

@Z: Weiner needn't have stepped down, I think, for texting lewd photos of himself, provided it was in no way a harrassment or a misuse of government resources. But when he lied to his constituents, the news media, and the nation about having done so, that crossed a line. He was right to resign. Not that I don't wish the government wouldn't show some comparable zeal when it comes to, say, looking into that whole Dick-Cheney-fucked us-all thing...
