I just beat Chrono Trigger (PSX version) three days ago. So I happened to come across this forum while doing some research


Btw: While I like Magus's character, I hated him in battles. He's freakin' individual

If you really like Magus's character you would understand why his techs are so individual. It wouldn't make sense for him to be all about team work, his magical skills were raised in solitude. Unlike the rest of the group, who learned thier skills together.

At least the two Triple Techs he does have (/can have) are the best. Funny that neither of them are w/Crono or Frog

I think having Magus and Frog together in a tech would be a strech to believe.

Why? I am certain he respects their strength, toward the end. Granted in the early stages he was disdainful, but if any show themselves mighty, he will enter into alliance with them, and would combat alongside.

I always kind of saw him as a kind of unselfish (if you can believe such a thing possible) user of people...The only time that Magus really shows any kind of respect towards Frog is during a New Game+ ending (the line "besides you and i everyone else in the world is cretins" or w/e)...and I think that may because in that ending Frog actually decides to confront Magus alone, finally breaking the long cycle he had of not standing up for himself...Magus did what he needed to...I think he could see that in Frog there...But otherwise? I always saw Frog as a chump.
