Boycott Bad Advertising Campaigns

Yes, it may be a frugal attempt, but I say we try it anyways...

We all know that bad commercials kill us little by little every single day of our lives. But what do we do about it? Nothing. I say we stand up against these corperate whores who have nothing better to do than to bore us to death or sicken us with their god-awful adverts. We all know quite a few...I'll name a couple, feel free to add your own...The list shall grow long, I imagine...And we shant let them put us down! Boycott such bad commercials by swearing not to buy, and to actually tell others not to buy, their products...

McDonalds - Yeah, we've all heard all of their lousy campaigns. Now it's "I'm lovin' it"...Heck even Maddox did an anti-I'm loving it article...'Ailing Vomit' I believe it was called...How long will we have to put up with their 'family' oriented garbage directed to sell their horrible garbage food?

GAP - Annoying commercials are bad advertising. By the old credo, any advertising is good, even if it sucks ass (or something along those lines). If it's annoying, it sticks in their heads like a tumor until it explodes or until they complain about it to others, thereby spreading their name. Don't let them use you, kill the GAP and their new holiday gingles that don't rhyme so bad that it hurts our brains. I don't care IF they're having a damn sale or not...Their advertising campaign alone kills any thought of buying their shoddy merchandise...

Who's with me?!?!

I am, and I have one more:

Old Navy - Goddamn, I hate that company.  I'm glad Geico did a rip on one of their commercials, because they deserve to be made fun of.

Hmmm...I think I meant Old Navy, but put the GAP...Either way, they both use the same tactics...

On the other hand, we also must recognize the good adverstising companies, like Geico, Aflac companies like that.

For the love of all things good and holy, someone please put a stop to the Viagra commericals. Especially that one they always play on CNN with the guy walking down the street with his wife. Everytime the viagra pops up from behind the guy's head to make it look like he has devil horns, I want to go postal on the television.

The Enzyte commercials are funny as hell but can be insanely annoying after you've seen the same commercial fifty times.

Yeah, Geico commercials pwn.

Anyway, there was this "Best Commercials of the Year" special I saw a few months ago, and it had this Red Herring commercial (I think that's what it was) that had a guy run up behind a bear (actually a guy in a bear suit) and then they started hand-to-hand fighting.  It was so awesome.  I just wish I could remember what it was so I could see it again.  I've never laughed so hard in my life.

Yeah I've saw this too even though I'm not American (it was on some humour program). It was a commercial for a salmon mark, "John West" or something like that.

You can't blame Viagra commercials though, I mean, look what they've got to work with...Old men with hard-ons...There's not much you can do there to make a good advertising campaign if you ask me...But I agree, that commercial sucks...

I don't like the Geico commercials with the gekko...With that one guy is good, but the gekko's gotta go...

Other than the fact that Viagra was/is the fastest-selling drug in history, yeah, you're right.

The best commerical ever was the one with the birds trying to "dive bomb" a Nissan while "Danger Zone" played in the background. I remember seeing it as a Super Bowl advert years ago and laughing hysterically.

Quality television, there.

Yeah, it was actually Old Navy I was talking about when I said GAP in my first post (as I said in my second, I believe)...I too hate those holiday gingles that do not rhyme at all for the sole purpose of being annoying...Anyone ever do a "GAP walk"? I guess it'd work under the same principles as a "Old Navy walk"...One of my friends actually got kicked out for doing it once, can you believe it?

Old Navy = teh suxxorz.  Anyone who buys from them should have their balls torn off with meat hooks.  As for the girls, they should be drowned in donkey piss.

Tommy Hilf--ker, Assercrombie and Bitch, and Aeroshithole can all suck my fat dick.  Stupid prep bullshit.

speaking of Abercrombie, I saw a (sort of) funny shirt the other day.  It's a fencing shirt (I fence), which said Abercrombie and Fleche (the fleche is an attack in fencing).  Now, you guys might think it's the stupidest thing in the world, but my fencing buds and I thought it was the funniest thing in the world.
