Submissions / Anyone able to buy this concert?
« on: November 06, 2020, 10:10:43 pm »
https://www.amazon.com/-/es/Yasunori-Mitsuda-Millennial-Fair/dp/B089NNZLRY/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_es_US=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=chrono+cross+20th+anniversary+concert&sr=8-1

I'm super sad I haven't been able to buy this, because I don't have an american credit card, and using a gift card isn't working either. Does anyone know any other way to purchase this concert somewhere else? :(

Fan Art / Is there an HD fanart of this portrait?
« on: November 06, 2020, 10:02:36 pm »
https://www.chronocompendium.com/images/wiki/b/bf/Psxweddingphoto.png

I'm looking to have this printed on a portrait to hang it on my wall. Small problems, though. Serge's head is cut off (https://www.chronocompendium.com/images/wiki/1/11/111.jpg), and the quality really sucks. Does anyone know of a fanart that has made a complete version of it? I'd love to have one or even commission one. I'm pretty sure I saw a fanart of it before!

Thank you for your help!

 :o :o

I proposed to my girlfriend this Christmas, using our customized Chrono Cross themed rings, made by Takayas. (https://takayascustomjewelry.com/)

The bride ring represents the Chrono Cross in the middle, with the two halves of the Dragon Tears (from each dimension) on the sides. It also has Serge's bandanna patterns as a motif. This is a white gold ring with sapphires, which unifies love through time and dimensions.

The groom ring represents the Frozen Flame, with the body of the closed flame running on the body of the ring, and the eyes on the top. It also has Kid's daggers as a motif. This is a white gold ring with rubies, which makes impossible phenomena become possible, such as cold fire itself.

Here's a picture of the proposal after some Christmas fireworks, and some pics of the rings  themselves. :)

Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Chrono Trigger DS OST, videos
« on: August 31, 2009, 04:32:14 am »
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, or if this has been posted before, but I'll go ahead anyway. Please move my post if needed.

My girlfriend just recently purchased the recently released Chrono Trigger OST [DS Version], 3 discs and 1 bonus DVD, the release is really worth it. Sound is really clear and sweet. The bonus DVD has an orchestra version of the main theme, and a medley of various songs, hinting the possibility of an orchestral album.

Maybe this can motivate people to buy the album, we just uploaded these:

It's fun to see GOD Mitsuda as the mastermind supervising everything.

Oh also, are you guys still in need of tracklists? We could provide very detailed ones, including kanji.

I'm opening this thread for some questions that rised in the other recent topics, and don't really dwell well into the discussión. This topic is not to discuss timelines or identities or whatever. Rather, to discuss the authenticity of Canon storyline for the new DS ending, linking the events directly to CC, or if it was just rather a peek that Kato decided to throw in.

SPOILERS, OBVIOUSLY

The New DS Ending, How to get it
- You beat the game normally. You kill Lavos, and you see the PSX FMV where Crono and Marle marry, Lucca finds Kid, etc, and of course, the fall of Guardia post 1000 AD.
- After beating the game, new distortion dungeons appear in 1000 AD. This is on the same file, not New Game +.
- You find Dalton in one of those dungeons too, who talks about overthrowing Guardia.
- The Time's Eclipse appears on the bucket at The End of Time.
- You find another Magus at Time's Eclipse (please read this topic for discussion on that).
- You see the Dream Devourer.
- The Dream Devourer devours the other Magus' memories and dreams, leaving him as a new shell persona.
- What happens to the party is unknown.

Now, there can be two implications on this. One is, all of these events actually happened, Crono and the others met the Dream Devourer, then got sent back to 1000 AD with or without memories, Crono and Marle married, Lucca adopted Kid, fall of Guardia (them knowing about Dalton or not), or the other possibility... the party never met Dalton, never met the Dream Devourer, but this other Magus guy did met the Dream Devourer, and the party being there was just for letting the player see these events. In short:

It being canon:
- Crono and the others knew about Dalton wanting to overthrow Guardia.
- Crono and the others met the Dream Devourer.
- The other Magus gets his memories erased.
- Crono and the others either had their memories of these events erased, or remember everything.
- Crono and Marle marry, Lucca adopts Kid, Guardia falls.

It being non canon:
- Crono and the others never met Dalton.
- Crono and the others never met the Dream Devourer.
- The other Magus gets his memories erased.
- Crono and the others either won't remember anything since it never happened, and was just a game device.
- Crono and Marle marry, Lucca adopts Kid, Guardia falls.

I for one sustain that it's non canon, since it's mysteriously AFTER the normal ending... where all your party members scatter to their respective eras. There seem to be no point of re-union in 1000 AD after defeating Lavos with all portals active and them jumping into the bucket again... I think this was just a game device to include some extra material and let the player witness some story on the Time Devourer, explaining some about the fall of Guardia and Magus/Schala in the process.

Sorry for my rushed redaction and ideas, but I think that's the basic concept. What's your position?

Chrono Compendium Discussion / Compendium's programation?
« on: June 28, 2008, 09:06:53 am »
The site's clean, organized and understandable design has very much called my attention. I know the forum runs by simplemachines, and you've greatly integrated it to the site.

But about the compendium itself, does it run under certain script, or one of the webmasters completely programmed it? Is it like a Wiki (that doesn't suck) where the webmasters can edit entries? As I see links like this: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Image:Community.png.html

And also at the bottom things like "The following pages link to this image:", which most certainly are automatically generated...

So, pardon my webmaster curiosity, who is the mastermind behind this system? :o

Chrono Compendium Discussion / Timelines
« on: June 04, 2008, 02:51:29 pm »
Pointing out some possible corrections on timelines.

LAVOS TIMELINE

Quote
*Melchior forges the Masamune from Dreamstone and his dreams.
Melchior forged the Red Knife, not the Masamune. Probably himself or someone else later stabbed the knife unto the Mammon Machine, making it become the Masamune.

Problem is also present on another timelines in a more oxymoronic way (in Keystone T-1, first it says Melchior forged the Masamune, and some lines below it explains how Crono made the Red Knife become the Masamune).

Quote
-Lavos (or more likely, the Entity) creates gates that send Belthasar to
2300 A.D., Melchior to 1000 A.D., Gaspar to the End of Time, and Janus to
600 A.D.
Circa 2300 A.D., circa 1000 A.D., Circa 600 A.D., just a small detail but completely changes the idea.

Also present in another timelines.

Quote
-Queen Leene marries into the Guardia royal family.
Isn't this assuming too much knowledge on the Guardia line? We don't know if the Guardia surname is carried by males or females, or if they share it via separated generations incest. After all, it was Crono who married into the Guardia line, not Marle. See the connection?

Yep, problem also present in other timelines.

~~~~~
KEYSTONE T-1
Quote
*Magus warps in from 600 A.D. and becomes a false prophet, hoping to gain
revenge on Lavos. He advises Queen Zeal that Crono's party may possibly
show up, and also tells her to get rid of the three Gurus. However,
despite them not being warped in the Ocean Palace disaster as originally
happened, they are still preserved within their timelines (Belthasar in
2300, Melchior in 1000, Gaspar in End of Time, Janus in 600 AD) due to
Time Traveler's Immunity.***
Is this saying that the Gurus and Janus weren't time warped in Keystone T-1? If so, where is evidence of that? There is time after you go out of the Ocean Palace, there is all that time while you are passed out at last village, there is all the time until the Ocean Palace rises. There is plenty of times for the Gurus and Janus to confront Zeal and get gated in time. It could even happen right when Magus is telling you about it at North Cape.
This is more weird seeing the next action in timeline is marked with a "-", meaning the following event definately happened after the previous one:
Quote
-Melchior is locked up on the Mountain of Woe.
So this is saying, Melchior didn't got warped in time, and instead locked up on Mountain of Woe? That really makes no sense, because by the date Melchior was locked up at Mt. Woe, Lavos hadn't even awakened, heck, Ocean Palace wasn't finished. And we know that he got warped to 1000 A.D. right in front of Lavos, and not before. So, this order of events is flawed. Check it up twice.
Quote
-At the Darkness Beyond Time, the defeated Lavos fuses with Schala to begin
the initial stages of transformation into the Time Devourer.
-Half of Schala's mind becomes set on destroying the world, while the other
half wishes to save the universe and herself.
Ugh, this just seems really out of place for me. It's talking about the Darkness Beyond Time... in 12,000 B.C. ... shouldn't that be just left apart? Besides, if I understand correctly, Lavos doesn't go to the Darkness Beyond Time until you kill him in his Pocket Dimension, which is also totally apart from 12,000 B.C.
Besides, it comes up again just a feeeew lines below:
Quote
-The defeated Lavos presumably finds itself in the Darkness Beyond TIme and
begins merging with Schala, who came in from the Ocean Palace.
Now it actually looks nice in there. No complain. But I feel the first one out of place.
I have more notes but right now I have classes <.< so, I'll get to type down the rest while someone answers these. Thank you, and keep up the great work!
Chrono / Gameplay Casual Discussion / Chrono Trigger PSX Videos
« on: May 23, 2008, 05:49:09 am »
I'm looking for a good rip of Chrono Trigger PSX videos, one with the BEST QUALITY POSSIBLE, so I can capture image and whatnot.
I have them actually in 3 avi videos I got long time ago: opening (26mb), events (22mb) and ending (11mb), but the size is really small and pixelated. I'm looking for a pro rip.
I even own the japanese version of CT for PSX but have no idea or time on how to make a good rip =X and probably there is already a good one out there, so, can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you.
Edit: Oh yes <.< please don't mention Blue Laguna... these rips are worse quality than the ones I have.
